The fabric is our proprietorially-designed ARGON 90. It is breathable yet wind resistant. It will help keep your body heat in, creating a micro-climate inside your cocoon of warmth. The vent is designed to not only allow the moisture of your breath to exhaust, but also to give you a window into the world.
*Printed top covers use our ARGON 15D polyester fabric instead of ARGON 90.

Didn’t notice at time of order but I ordered an asymetrical top cover with my symetrical Chameleon double layer. Only tried in backyard once since just got it( got hang this weekend). But it does zip in to my regular sym hammock, does the symetrical top cover fit better?( I like the lesser sized opening( mesh) on asym version.) Slept great in it, love the look of the ATACS iX camo on it. Great product, super fast turn around, and very light weight weight.

Picked up the asym in OD to add a little cover and warmth. So far instant 10 deg. F increase right off the bat! Just wish I could have got it in matching banana print ; P otherwise i would say full on 5 star. Super freaky fast delivery, even during the rough covid times. cheers Dutch, great quality product and service as always.

Does the material have both a matte and shiny side? If so, would the shiny side of the material be facing out or would it be on the inside with me if I sleep with my head to the right? Silly question really but was just curious.

It is made to be reversible so depending on how you like to sleep will make the difference as to if the shiny side is out or in. The functionality will not depend on which side is in or out and it will perform the same.

When the temps dip a little or the winds kick up, I love having the option to take off the bug net and zip on this top cover. It makes things very comfortable in the hammock. Before buying, I thought there might be too much bug netting with this top cover but actually, once again, Dutch has thought it out and it’s the right amount!

It really depends on the person and how warm you like to be. Ask Dutch and he will tell you that he still uses one in 50 degree weather and I would say for myself maybe 30 and below.

I still don’t understand what the real difference is between Asym and Symmetrical other than the shape of the opening. One video said I could change my lay with a symmetrical… but why could I not do with either?

The Asym Cover is a directional cut and the symmetrical is evenly shaped. So the Asym cover will make your entire hammock asymmetrical (meaning you can only lay in one direction). If you lay in the opposite direction of the cover, you will overstress the fabric and either tear the fabric or blow out the zipper. To change the lay for this cover, you’ll need to unzip it from the hammock body, flip it 180 degrees, then rezip it to the hammock body. If you change your lay often, the symmetrical top cover is a better option for you.
