    So easy!

Stingers are really easy to use AND super light weight. I’ve tried other methods of hanging my tarp but really gravitate toward these. I have them on all of my tarps with about 13ft of zing it. I found that is a great length for most cases. I’ve had some instances with large trees where 13ft wasn’t long enough. Because of those cases I’ve added a second set of Beatle buckles to my hammock suspension so that I can tie my tarp to my hammock suspension.

If you are using different tarps or constantly changing your tarp configuration then this is for you. It saves cordage by just clipping to the tie out you need at the time. Dutchwear is all about speed, simplicity, and weight savings. They always seem to get it right on all of those fronts. You will not regret buying any of the dutchwear you need.

I bought a pair of these a couple months ago to use for my hammock tarp, and found them so easy to use that i just bought 2 pair of them spliced for my 2 daughter’s hammock tarps. We used them last night and they were able to put up their own tarps! They are 13 and 10! these are great!

Dutch just can’t miss. I love these Stingerz. They make it super easy to rig a tarp. I have my Winter Dream 12 in a double end stuff sack with a snake skin over the tarp. Just a quick connection on one end and then walk my tarp to the other tree an viola! Tarp is rigged. Breaking camp down is just as simple. No fuss, no mess.

I highly recommend a pair of these, and one pair is all you’ll need because they are so darn easy to swap from tarp to tarp.

    Best ridgeline

    navbutler (verified owner)

After a challenging experience about a year ago with trying a traditional ridgeline setup in the dark, exhausted, in the 35 deg rain; I’ve replaced all of my ridgelines with a pair of spliced Stingerz. The Stingerz pack easily while remaining attached to my sleeved tarp, and set-up mindlessly and efficiently every time.

The BEST way to hang a tarp!

    efehler (verified owner)

I love these! I’ve tried lots of methods to rig a tarp, and these are the BEST!
Stingerz with the pre-attached leads are fast and easy! And they make it easy to center the tarp. Don’t let the CRL folks brainwash you about that! :=)
Also, this method provides a full length “V” on both ends of the tarp.
And they’re easy to switch from one tarp to another.
If you have a tarp, you should definitely have a pair of Stingerz!

    nkuyaker (verified owner)

I love the stingers and they are the easiest little device to hang a ridgeline. I can’t count the times I took my hammock down in the rain and the longest time was spent on unknotting the ridgeline. No more or that. No more knots. Got the singers with the attached lash it. So easy!

So Much Easier Than A Continuous Ridgeline

    photographyfromthewilds (verified owner)

When I was first starting out and researching what I wanted to buy for my set up several years ago, I opted for separate ridgelines on the advice of YouTubers Shug and Schill Brothers. Every time I attended a hang with other hammockers, I was dissed somewhat for my choice with them insisting that a continuous was so much “easier”. So……… I caved and bought a continuous ridgeline set up in my third year of hammocking. Well, after a couple of trial runs in the backyard it went on Hammock Forums for sale. I hated it. Naysayers claim it’s so difficult to get your tarp centered over your hammock. NO !! Just drape the tarp over the ridgeline or lay the tarp in the snakeskins in the hammock with and equal amount hanging over the ends of the hammock. It may require some tweaking but it’s not difficult. Stingerz and Lash It are THE only way to go.

One of my favorite hardware options for rigging a hammock tarp is the DutchWare Stingerz™

One of my favorite hardware options for rigging a hammock tarp is the DutchWare Stingerz™. These titanium clips weight a scant 0.25 oz. (7 g.) for the pair and are easy to use on any tarp. I drew this diagram to show how I use Stingerz in the field. I splice or tie one end of my line (again, braided mason line), take the line around the tree and back to the Stingerz to create the “V” for the hammock suspension.

The Stingerz also feature the “stinger” where you can catch the line and pull back for a 2:1 mechanical advantage to get the tarp line taut. Finish by wrapping the line once or twice around the “antenna.” I find that once around the antenna is sufficient to hold the line. I store my Stingerz with the line separate from my tarp as I tend to switch tarps depending on the trip and I can easily clip on the Stingerz to any tarp thanks to the mini carabiner end.

Love the stinger for my tarp ridgeline. My friend wanted the same set up as me so I ordered him one of these, a dutch hook and 50′ of zing-it. I much prefer this as I can quickly and easily adjust the position of the tarp from one side and lock it in place.

A brilliant design that is also a pleasure to use

There’s almost certainly no easier way to connect your tarp to a support. I know a number of knots, but this is one application, especially in the dark and/or rain, where I don’t want to fiddle about, depending on my aging memory. Wrap the support, apply mechanical advantage, wrap the antennae once (twice if you’re feeling insecure), and you’re done.

So, a little confused on how this works. Does it take away the ridgline that would run across the entire tarp? And if so, do you use this on both sides of the tarp? Or how i sthe other sied supose to work? Kinda new to the hammock community, I have learned that there is really no right or worng way, just crurious on how others hung their tarps useing this system!
