Hello! I have a HH at 108″ long. I would like to change the hammock ridgeline with something adjustable and maintain a high strength to it. Already use your hardware and Kevlar straps for my suspension. Would you recommend the UCR for this application? Or something else? Current body weight 200lb. Thank you for your consideration in advance. Stay healthy.

You could go the route of a UCR or you could get a structural ridgeline. It is completely up to you. We normally use the gray Last It which is plenty strong enough for a ridgeline.

I made the mistake of ordering the wrong thing and had to call in and try to get them to fix my mistake.. Which im already feeling like i made a mistake and they are probable not going to do anything for me! But, i was mistaken again they went above and beyond. Not only did they explain to me that they didn’t offer something in my size but they would custom make something for me at no extra charge… that’s customer service at its best…. like the prior review given by Mike B- I’m now a lifelong satisfied customer and will be buying my next Hammock from them!

Originally the ridgeline was too long for my ENO DN and Dutch quickly sent me a new one which was 6″ shorter and a postage-paid return envelope to send back the original at no charge. EXCELLENT customer support and great products – I’m now a lifelong satisfied customer!

This thing is thin and seems strong and the adjustability is simple: the grey line has a fixed eye on one end and a burry on the other, spliced through the yellow cord with a fixed eye and a prusik knot on the grey line.

  7. Question

    jkim419 (verified owner)

I ordered the Whoopie sling Adjustable Ridgeline. It is all gray and somewhat hard to tell which side to adjust when pulling through the ‘sleeve’. Would it be safe to mark with a sharpie pen and not degrade the material in any way or any recommendations to mark a desired length? Also, I got it as short as possible and loop to loop, it is 91 inches, with barely enough room to spare to hook onto the ENO hammock’s carabiners, which will be clipped into the Atlas straps. It is going to be used on a 112 inch ENO Doublenest as a Structural Ridgeline – would 93 inches be a good distance for a proper hang? Using the 83% rule everyone recommends which comes out to 92.96Also if I want to make it shorter, are there special knots or loops I can tie to make it shorter without compromising the line’s integrity? Thank you for any info, hammock first timer here!

Yes, you can mark this rope with a sharpie if needed. 93 inches sounds like a good rideline length for your hammock. Have a look at the video in order to better understand Whoopie Slings:

On our hammocks we normally put the fixed eye of the ridgeline over the one end on the continuous loop. However if you do not have this on your hammock you could use a ridgeline biner. Here is an instructional video:

They aren’t necessary for the UCR or the whoopie ridgeline. They are for making a DIY one where the ring acts like a prussic.

This is a Ridgeline and we do not make it out of amsteel. It is made out of gray lash it and yellow zing it. The ucr is a length of 126″ and the whoopie sling Ridgeline is 120″.

If your hammock is setup the proper way there should only be about 10 pounds of pressure put on your ridgeline. The cord used for this has a breaking strength of roughly 360 pounds.

I got one of these and tried it out, what a difference and time saver on setup time and comfort. Easy to install. Takes a little bit of time with getting the adjustment down but when you do you’ll know. I am buying some more often for the rest of the family. Well worth the investment.
