    Go Wide

At 71 inches tall & 183 pounds I went with the wide 11 foot x 68 inch netless hammock in the Hexon W 1.6 fabric with both the knotty mods & ridgeline. Great lower back and under knee support, no calf ridge, lots of room, no shoulder squeeze, no problems with excess fabric on either side of hammock. Very comfortable laying on either side, the back, right lay and left lay. The fabric is comfortable and breathable. Good workmanship, light weight and packable. Good value.

Having my first lay in the hexon 1.6 wide netless. Easily set up right out of the package, and ridiculously comfortable. It is exactly what I was looking for in a backpacking hammock. I wasn’t sure about the two ended stuff sack it comes with, now I see the error in my ways. Hanging it without having your hammock ever touch the ground was awesome.

    Great hammock

    nbigfoot (verified owner)

I use to use a 10 ft hammock but wasn’t waking up great. My back was a little sore. A few hammock campers recommend a bigger hammock.

I love the quality of the work. No loose threads like my other hammock. Since i already had a ridge line, straps, and underquilt I didn’t have to add anything. I honestly only used it for a few hours today but plan on testing it out tonight. So far so good! I really like the reasonable price since I’m starting out….gear can get costly. Thanks a lot!

Description states that if you don’t order with a suspension they will send it tie-wrapped on the gathered end. Great because I’m going to create my own whoppie/hook suspension with continuous loops on the ends. BUT, Dutch added the continuous loops!

There is a loop at one end on each pair of straps. You can choose to add a sew-on Dutch clip or a Titanium Dutch clip. Both clips have the same features, just one is sewn in and one is removable. -Gwendolyn

    navbutler

I purchased this hammock during a holiday sale, set it up once, then was completely hooked on it’s comfort and size to weight ratio. There’s plenty of support for my 275 lb frame. This is now my summer backpacking hammock. I doubt there is a more comfortable or versatile hammock than this wide-netless in Hexon 1.6 nylon, at any price range, at this size and weight.

Between those two fabrics they will have about the same strength and safety. The biggest difference that you will notice will be in the feel and how it responds. The Nylon D will have a little more stretch or give to it and the have a silkier feel. The Hexon will have a more cotton like feel and while it will have some stretch or give it will not be as much as the Nylon D.

First of all, service was excellent, very fast, pretty much no wait time. I had my custom hammock in a week. I purchased an 11′, double layer, wide model, with the Knotty Mod just for fun. It is a very comfortable hammock, I can lay flat and I’m 6′ tall. I’ve made this hammock my nightly Sleeper, got it hung in my bedroom when I’m not camping. Thanks Dutch.

I have the Half-Wit hammock which is great for backpacking. I have taken it on several trips in the mountains and have had some nights where mosquitos could carry one away with no problems. Dutch also provides great customer service, I had a small tear in my hammock where the net and the hammock meet. Dutch fixed it, no questions asked. I would recommend this hammock to anyone. Thanks.

My hammock arrived yesterday, and let me just say I could not be happier with my choice. There are quite a few cottage vendors to choose from, and I will be recommending Dutchware to everyone that asks (and some who don’t!).

I did a single layer 1.6 Hexon in dark olive – it feels like silk while still being safe and sturdy, and I am 210lb.

    My new favorite hammock.

My new favorite hammock. I’m 6’0 250 pounds, so I ordered an 11 foot (wide version) hammock, dual layer, with ridge line. Through initial trials, it appears to be up to the task. Craftsmanship, materials, and attention to detail is very good. Definitely a “custom” feel and look, as opposed to store bought commercial brand hammocks. I like that I was able to choose the fabric color(s), and not have the contrasting two tone edging the store bought hammocks have. I’m using a continuous loop to cinch up the ends. For the suspension set up, I’m using the whoopie slings/whoopie hooks, and Dutchware Biners connected to tree huggers. The hammock is held very securely with this system. Overall I am very happy with my purchase, and will likely purchase more gear from Dutchware.

Out preforms top dollar hammocks! Im new to backpacking with a hammock. So when the interest struck me i went out and bought a few to try out. Turn out that Dutches netless hammock has been my go 2 rig for all my winter trips. Its super light weight and packs pretty darn small. I liked it so much that i bought the half wit for the buggy month’s. Simple light amd effective!

    Sweet Hang

I ordered this hammock on a Tuesday, arrived on Friday the same week. Slept in it the night I got it. Very durable and comfortable. Do not waste your money on cheap sporting good retail hammocks. Dutch is the way to go. I also ordered whoopie slings, tree straps, dutch clips, and toggles for this. Very easy and a lot faster way to rig a suspensions compared to other methods. I had the dual knottie mod done to mine too.. Personally I do know know how I feel about it. It didn’t affect the lay, just prevented the extra hammock material from flapping around. Either way I am not disappointed at all. Just buy it…

    Super great hammock

Finally got a little time from work to try my new hammock from Dutch. And i couldn’t wait. The hammock is very comfortable. It also came with a double end stuff sack, which is nice when setting up my hammock. I also bought a pair of Dutch biners for this hammock to use to to connect to my cinch buckle suspension (which is also from Dutch). In case you haven’t noticed Dutchs gear is pretty awesome. Always eager to tell friends and family looking to get into hammock camping about this site and about the gear Dutch offers. Thanks again for another great product Dutch.

I would never recommend sleeping two people in one hammock. You end up being smashed together and its just downright unconformable. A much more comfortable option is two complete hammock setups hung off the same trees. You use a spreader bar at the head end to prevent that smashing.

    Dutch,
The more I deal with you and your company the more impressed I am with the level of customer service that you guys offer. I ordered the party lights and the little clip for the battery cover broke off when I opened it and mentioned it to Alex and he sent me one out which I received in 2 days and told me to keep the other one for parts. You guys are running a 5 out of 5 star operation over there. I first learned about you and you company from watching Shug, Syntax77 and the hang your own hang podcast.
Anyway on to my question. You said that you had this hammock in the brilliant blue and I was wondering what the specs were on that one. Is it a double layer and what type of fabric is it made out of? Also was wondering what the cost was on that one and what type of suspension it comes with. I am new to hammock camping and I am still learning all the ins and outs of how to set up everything. I am reading Derricks book and watching many of your videos which I have to say are very informative.
Thank you to you and your team for all that you do.

The brilliant blue wide is a hexon 1.6 with a 350 pound weight rating. I can make a double layer but most are okay with a single layer. There are two suspensions that we offer. Cinch buckles wit UDtch clips ($36 and Whoopie hook ($39). The hammock itself is $57 without a suspension. I suggest you add a ridgeline for $7.50

    Most comfortable Hammock

I have to say this is the most comfortable hammock I’ve ever laid in. I received notice that it had been delivered and ran home on my lunch break to get it. I hung it in the backyard and laid down and almost didn’t make it back to work, I so comfortable. I’m more of a side sleeper, and I have slept in it the last two nights and was perfectly comfortable the whole night. I’m 100% satisfied with everything I’ve purchased from Dutchware Gear. Thanks

Hello! Which type of rope is the included 2 x 8″ continuous loops, made out of? And what is the weight rating for them?

I’d need about 350lb minimum for a weight rating so if the included loop isn’t rated for that, am I able to add a custom request that swaps that loop for an amsteel continuous loop, just to insure a safer weight rating? (Perhaps even with a spliced mantis hook on it as well?!?!)

Our standard continuous loops are made from 7/64 amsteel and have a rating of about 1000 pounds. If you’d like some extra security, you can always upgrade to the 1/8 amsteel instead.
