Description

The NX series is the ultimate tent hammock.  Backpacker Magazine named the NX-270 a “best new hammock”, praising its spaciousness, “excellent livability” and insulating properties (See the review).  In addition, the NX-270 includes the finest suspension available anywhere including Amsteel slings, Timp-Hitch attachment point installed on the hammock, and adjustable tree protection straps that make suspending your hammock easier and faster than ever.  You will stay dry, bug-free and perfectly comfortable in this American-made system.

The NX-270 is ready for a wide range of temperatures. The insulating pockets allow you to leave your pad or underquilt at home down into the 30s F (around 0° C).  These insulating pockets are accessed through zippers inside the tent hammock.  Organize and store gear in these pockets to help the pockets insulate even better. When temperatures drop further, VELCRO® Brand Hook and Loop is built in around the bed to accommodate our Z-Liner 270 underquilt. The breathable WeatherShield zips in to transform the hammock into an enclosed tent, providing warmth, a wind break, or extra protection from rain and snow.

The NX-270 combines a large solo bed with flexible poles to create a spacious feeling and easy set-up.  Simply connect the hammock to two supports, insert the poles, and you are ready for a comfortable sleep.

A dedicated cell phone pocket and a two-ended pocket (which can hold anything from a water bottle to a pistol) complete the interior storage.

You will notice the quality of the craftsmanship right way.  Each hammock is made in our Lancaster, PA factory from the best materials.  Every bed is made from quality fabric that is woven to provide breathability, water repellency and mosquito resistance.

Features:
Timp-Hitch suspension system includes 1500lb. Amsteel slings and adjustable tree straps; Space-creating, flexible fiberglass poles; water-resistant, breathable WeatherShield; six large pockets underneath hammock bed designed to store gear and provide insulation against the cold; mosquito-resistant bed fabric; two interior pockets for phone and other items; full No-See-Um netting has double zippers for highest level of versatility; no-tip design; built-in stuff bag system

Hello, water resistant = yes. Waterproof = No. We recommend a tarp if you are camping in rain/snow.

    Hello,
I inherited my Clark NX-270 last year, and will never go back. Seriously, the best hammock ever! However, the previous owner replaced the suspension with his own. Is their any way I could purchase a new set of the original suspension?
    Thank you

We would recommend one of our Wide Hammocks instead. The Wide Netless, Wide Chameleon, Wide Half-Zip, or even the 12Footer.

I recently had some issues with my order and hammock I received and Dave responded within minutes wanting to help address the problem. He also helped me understand how they are making these hammocks the same way and with the same material as Clarke did. I love these hammocks and recommend to anyone camping and sleeping in the boreal and cool weather locations.

Been using since 2008, I have the old jungle hammock from Clark. Used it hard, no sign of wear, but I take care of my gear. Bought a new nx-270 to have just in case my 1 st one ever gives up the ghost. Not for ultralight Packers, but I will carry alil weight for comfort every time, excellent product

Purchasing American made products is important to me. I own 2 Clark Hammocks. NX 150, and TX 270. Both are built like tanks and have given me zero issues in many years of use.
Clark’s are not an ultra light hammocks for a reason. They’re tough. I use mine for ATV camping, fishing and hunting in Minnesota. I’m a larger sized person 5’9″ 275, it suits me.
Treat yourself to the best night’s sleep in the woods

Yes. We suggest that you use a waterproof ground sheet for this to protect the hammock material and to stay dry.

  12. Question

    Jevon Waldron

    Hello,
i have had the NX-270 for several years and love it, but i am looking for a second more compact hammock and want a chameleon. i am curious do you have the dimensions of the NX 270 , so i could compare that against the reg and wide Chameleon jungle hammock. it seems like the reg would still be larger than reg chameleon, but i just wanted to confirm before i go with that size

    Thanks

    Jevon

    It Changed Backpacking for me

    rtator1

I had my eye on the NX-270 for quite a while before purchasing one many years ago…then a backup when I thought they would become unavailable. I hate that I waited so long. I went from a series of two hour naps on the ground, to getting a full night’s rest while camping in the woods- Just super comfortable. I use it for car camping as well. As long as you have trees available, this hammock is superior in so many ways to anything in my previous experience (Unless you’re a stomach sleeper – doesn’t do well for those folks). I don’t need a sleeping pad/underquilt because of the pockets underneath; it provides great bug protection and has a weather shield for the wind, which can be deployed or not. And, for a hammock, it’s very roomy inside because of the poles. I found it user friendly, even when I was a novice, and the weight, set up, and packability are comparable to my old tent (although definitely not ultralight). I just love it!
