Comfy I have the hexon 1.6 with dual knotty mod and I used the titanium cinch system. It is incredibly comfortable. The feel and look of this material is unique. I love it. I am 230lbs and 5’11” and I am the most comfortable I have ever been in any other hammock. I have used Tennessee and heno hammocks and they have nothing on dutches hammocks. You will not be disappointed.

Impressed, but I knew I would beHexon 1.6 11′ in Coyote Brown with continuous loops and a ridgeline for what I’d pay for a big box store hammock at way less weight? I’d buy it again.
With whoopie slings and Dutch tree straps my rig weighs less than a single ENO doublenest without suspension.
I’m hooked on DWG! You guys keep doing what you do.

I’m blown away by my 11-foot netless. It’s leaps and bounds beyond any of the other box-box retailer ones I’ve owned.
The weekend I got it, I had a hard time getting anything else done because I just wanted to relax in it.
For a long time, I figured the cottage-made rigs couldn’t be THAT much better than what you’d get from a big retailer or on Amazon, and I’ve got to say, I’m glad I was proven wrong.
Thanks to the Dutchwear team for making my camping/hammocking experience so much better than it was.

I have owned several “ultralight” hammocks (7oz or less) over the past few years but none have seemed to impress. One of them ripped on me in the middle of the wilderness and all of them have sacrificed dimensions in order to save weight. With that being said, I was a little skeptical when I came across the cloud 71 hammock. A full size hammock at only 5oz for only $45? Sounded too good to be true.
I am 5’10” 185lb and I read the weight limit for this fabric is 200lbs. The hammock that ripped on me had a weight limit of 300lbs! I was still skeptical until I watched the video where Dutch stacks 1000lbs in one of these. As soon as I watched that I was sold. I ordered the hammock in a custom 10ft length with continuous loops and waited eagerly for it to arrive.
During the first two weeks of owning the hammock I was in it at least once a day. At first I was very careful as I was afraid it was going to rip but eventually I began to move and bounce around as I tested out my new purchase. After two weeks of continued use I did not observe any tearing or fraying and I was very satisfied. The next step was to take this into the field. I did a two night backpacking trip and as expected this hammock performed exceptionally.
One small note, and this has nothing to do with the quality or performance of the hammock. I replaced the continuous loops with button links from Hummingbird Hammocks. I also use the Hummingbird Hammocks tree straps to complete my ultralight set up. All together the hammock and suspension weigh 7.6oz.
10/10. Do recommend.

Question
Tor –
I see both in description and in different questions asked the Hexon 1.0 is now listed to a weight rating of 200 pounds.
When I bought my 1.0 hexon back in 2016, it was listed to 250 lbs. And Dutch himself said so at multiple occations on hammockforums. I.E : https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/117247-Weight-Capacity-of-Hexon-1-0-11-footer
Has the fabric changed since, or has the weight rating been adjusted?
best regards,

Awesome! Incredible!Awesome! Incredible! Customer Service is back in America. Ordered hammock on a bit of short notice for a planned trip to the Smokys. Order was expedited, shipped, and received within a couple days. Loved the fabric softness and light weight. One of best lies/sleeps in a hammock ever. The extra length of an 11′ hammock delivers for this 6’2″ backpacker. After initial use I had a 1 in a million issue and contacted Andrea. She bent over backwards for me again in an expedited fashion. Issue resolved in an extremely satisfactory manner. I wish these folks at Dutchware manufactured boots, apparel, hats, backpacks, and all other required backpacking gear. Thanks again for your pride and dedication!

I love my 1.0 Hexon Knotty Mod hammock with the double ended stuff sack.
I love my 1.0 Hexon Knotty Mod hammock with the double ended stuff sack. I also love the craftsmanship and customer service that came with my hammock. When researching options for my hammock, I didn’t know what options would fit my needs and my body size, 5’3″. Dutch was able to help me choose the best hammock for me. My husband, (average male size) was skeptical of the light weight fabric, I had him set it up in our yard, and caught him napping in it twice!
When I ordered my hammock, it came the wrong length. I didn’t notice right away, and took it backpacking. I contacted DutchWare when I got back, and promptly heard back from them. I mailed back my hammock and was shipped the right size shortly after. No hassles, no fuss.
I use my hammock for backpacking in the White Mountains. My last trip, it snowed and the wind was gusting like it does at the top of the mountain. The Knotty Mod kept the footbox of my sleeping bag from flopping off the side of the hammock, which helped keep me warm and comfortable. I look forward to my future purchases.

I just received my netless hammock last week. The quality of the stitching and assembly was fantastic!
I purchased it to upgrade from my “budget cottage” hammock (manufacture has closed shop) and the difference in the newer materials and quality of hang is amazing.
I was so impressed with the hammock, I just ordered a new tarp setup to compliment the new hammock.
Thanks for making quality products and offering DIY materials at a good price!

Ordered a Hexon 1.6 hammock with dyneema/polypro straps and cinch buckles for a convenient and quick setup. I was very impressed with the speed at which Dutch was able to send me my hammock!
After taking it out on a quick overnighter I have only positive things to say about the high quality of the materials and obvious attention to detail that went into the hammock.
Another cool touch was the weights of everything in my order on the packing slip. Nice to know if I decide to delve into “Gram Weenie” territory I can lose roughly two ounces by leaving the cinch buckles at home!

Jesse Kirchner (verified owner) –
Which suspension would be easiest for a 9-year-old to operate?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
Dave Gantz –
The cinch buckles need to be set correctly and checked every time before laying in the hammock. The whoopie slings may be a bit more difficult to adjust for a young child, but much easier to setup with less room for critical mistakes overall.

Ordered the charcoal grey 1.6 hexon with the whoopie sling adjustable ridge line, dual knotty mods and continuous loop. I love it! The ridge line makes all the difference. Soft fabric and quality hammock. I set it up the second it was delivered and learned what it should really feel like to lay in a hammock.
The stuff sack is great too. Fits my hammock, whoopie slings and spider suspension system. The whole system weighs less than my old hammock alone! Now it all fits in one stuff sack at half the weight. Thanks Dutch and crew!

I have wanted a Dutch hammock for a very long time, and finally have one of my very own! Hex 1.6 in Olive Green and it’s beautiful! I ordered the knotty mod (love it!) and the buckle suspension and it’s far easier to use than the daisy chain I had before. Not to mention that it weighs far less! I can’t wait for my first adventure! I loved the fact that I could custom order the size I wanted, and so I asked for a shorter version. Apparently, my computer ate my request and it came normal sized. Although it appeared that it was my fault, customer service told me I could send it back and they’d re-cut the length to my specs. And they did! Talk about customer service! Thank you…cheers to camping!!

I bought a double layer Hexon 1.0 so I could slip my pad in between the layers. It works really well. I also got the static ridge line and it is perfect for that off axis flat lay I never had with the cheap imitation of a hammock I bought last year to see if I even liked hanging.
The Whoopie sling / Dutch clip suspension is quick, easy and light.
The Dutch Elves were quick to make my order and ship it out, always appreciated. I’m really glad I bought this gear.

i can’t say enough about my new hammock. Hexon 1.0 brilliant blue inner, Dobby 1.9 olive drab outer. Knotty mod, and fixed ridgeline. Dutch recommended this combo to me, and this is the most comfortable hammock I’ve ever used. I have four other hammocks , so I have spent a fair amount of time with them. I don’t think I could sleep in any of my other ones after this. Being able to put a self inflating pad between the layers , (and didn’t move all over the place) , is priceless. Way to go Dutch!!

Been wanting to get into some back-country hiking and camping & Dutchware is the go to place for all hammock needs! I ordered my own netless Hammock system, tarp, hardware, & tieouts. Outstanding craftsmanship put into all this equipment. Hardware rather than learning and using knots is way quicker for setting up camp. The hammock it self (Hex 1.6) is SO comfy & so many patterns & colors to choose from to make it your own. It’s so keen how much ingenuity went into all these products from the smallest of flies, stingers, & worms to the cordage & fabric you choose. The other outstanding side of this business is the OUTSTANDING customer service, trust me your in good hands at Dutchware. From Qs & As to placing those orders to ship I always got a response to a reply. If not any notes added in a order made was done without a hassle or follow up email. It was as if I walked into a store needing help over the internet. I cannot wait this fall to take my hammock & gear outdoors!

I bought a double layer in my school colors of 2.4 bottom layer and 1.6 top layer! It is so well made I foresee decades of its use. The 1.6 fabric is smooth and comfortable against the skin and the 2.4 has a mild texture that I am glad is not against my skin but seems super durable against anything it might rub on.
But here are some questions I had that were only answered after delivery.:
The sides are seen differently. The front edge with the opening for the pad is only seen through once and each layer is hemmed again separately. The back edge hem has the bottom layer rolled over onto the top layer in a very secure hem. So the hems look different and react to a hang differently. Also the “spring side knotty mod” I made also looks different in each side.
The fabrics I choose are an excellent windbreak. Cool evening breezes in my back yard are not felt through it. I used to freeze in an eno even in summer.
This 11 foot double layer hammock with whoopies, whoopie hooks, and higher straps is lighter than my old eno with atlas straps.
Overall this is a great way to get a superior hammock for an amazing price! I am very happy.

If you’re on the fence about a Dutch, get off the fence & do it! I didn’t know anything about Dutch or his company but after seeing nothing but glowing reviews, I took the plunge & couldn’t be happier. There is no doubt Dutch takes pride in his work. I’ve searched over my hammock & haven’t found any loose threads, screwed up stitching, anything.
Are Dutch’s hammocks the most awesome hammocks in the history of hammocks? I have no idea but I do know that for a product that is handmade in good ol’ Murica, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better product at a better value.
Thanks again Dutch for great handmade stuff at awesome prices

Exactly what I hoped for!
It’s exactly what I wanted and needed. Living in Florida makes camping season pretty short unless you plan to sweating to death or carried off by mosquitoes. So I camp only in late fall and winter here. I wanted one that would be double layered for my sleeping pad to fit in and long enough that I didn’t feel restricted. I’m not tall at 6’1, but my previous ENO was so short that I felt cramped. This 11 footer of ditches opened my world for comfort and stability. It’s a soft argon material, I believe, and feels like cotton and doesn’t create calf ridge like my ENO did. PROUD TO OWN IT! Thanks Dutch for the great nights sleep!

Great craftsmanship, great hammocks!
My partner and I both ordered hexon 1.0 11′ netless hammocks with a fixed ridgeline. He got the knotty mod, I didn’t. The hammocks are SO much lighter and more comfortable than our previous, shorter hammocks. I can get a better diagonal, and feel more confident in the stability of the hang. So far, we’ve camped from Crater Lake to Death Valley in these things, and they’ve performed perfectly. As others have said, the two-sided stuff sack makes it fast and easy to put up and take down. I happily recommend these hammocks to everyone, whether you’re a weekend backyard napper or a hardcore backpacker!
Dutch and his team are awesome to work with as well. We asked for a color-coordinated set of whoopie slings and continuous loops, and they were happy to oblige. You can’t get better value or customer service than DUTCHWARE GEAR!

Took my new Dutchward 11ft Hexon 1.6 out for a quick overnight to try it out. I ordered it with the whoopie hook suspension and a whoopie sling adjustable ridgeline . Everything about it was top-notch. I spent some time playing with the ridgeline length, and will probably continue to do so, but found the length makes a difference. Glad I got the adjustable option. The whoopie hooks are really cool. Makes for a very fast and easy hang. The hammock is very light and easy to set-up and pack away. I am very happy with the quality of the products and the service from Dutchware. I also ordered dutch clips for my tree straps and they are awesome! All around I am very happy with my purchase.

Very fast, excellent communication, beautiful finished product.
Very fast, excellent communication, beautiful finished product. I’m relatively new to hammock camping and this is my first 11 footer; what a difference another foot makes, very comfortable. Also hexon has a nice feel, not sticky (sweaty) feeling like nylon can be.
BTW heard about Dutch on forum.
Thank You Dutch

Really good ultralight hammock for backpacking.
Really good ultralight hammock for backpacking. The hexon material is very comfortable and high quality. I went with the 1.0 and the weight dutch lists is accurate. The double sided stuff sack it comes with is wonderful and is a great value-add.

Justin –
Is it possible to get the discount on ordering suspension along with a hammock if you want Dyneema straps?

admin –
I am afraid we don’t offer that. We have standard suspensions that we make up in bulk to reduce manufacturing costs.

Dutch and his team have the best customer service and quality you can only get from being hand made in the USA! I got the 11-foot Argon some time ago and love it! The texture is great, living in Arkansas I sleep with just shorts on and I normally can’t stand poly materials. I have mishung this hammock so tight I broke my zingit ridgeline when I layed down in it. Total newby mistake, trees were way to far apart. Thankfully Dutchs gear is so high quality that my hammock survived my abuse!

Just received my second Dutch net less hammock and I can’t force myself to get out of it. I decided to go with 2.4 this time and I’m glad I did. I have a WBBB XLC, Dutch net less 1.6w, and a few Eno DN and the hexon 2.4 is my new favorite. I really like the low stretch as I’m a bigger guy (260) and the low/no stretch give me a flatter lay. A lot less shoulder squeeze in this 2.4 than the 1.6w. It’s hard to beat the price of this hammock. May have to invest in a Dutch 2.4 netted hammock before long.

Was so psyched to receive my order a day earlier than the shipping tracking told me! The quality of the material is amazing, so soft yet so strong! I am 5’1″ and 120lbs so the Hexon 1.0 was the perfect option. I also purchased the Beetle Buckle suspension with my hammock and was very happy with the ease of set-up.
Dutch really puts 110% into his products and I couldnt be happier!

If I order a woodie sling Ridgeline for the hammock, is it already attached? And can I detach it afterwards? Does the whoopie sling have a bead or some kind of stopper on the loop?
On the gathered end of the hammock, how is it suspended? Do I need to figure out something for myself, or does it come with some thing?

DutchWare Gear –
No it would not already be attached, yes it will have a bead in it, yes it will go over the ends of the continuous loops on the gathered end of your hammock

Wow! I am blown away by the quality of my new hexon 1.0 hammock (and all my other new Dutch bling).
Wow! I am blown away by the quality of my new hexon 1.0 hammock (and all my other new Dutch bling). This fabric has an amazing feel and packs down to basically nothing. I struggle to envision a scenario where I wouldn’t have room for this hammock. I could probably stuff it in my pocket. 5-Stars, A+, very pleased with this product. Thanks, Dutch!

Before I begin, I want to start off by saying that I NEVER give a 5 star review, because I am the kind of person who believes nothing is perfect. This company and their products are the exception.
Before I begin, I want to start off by saying that I NEVER give a 5 star review, because I am the kind of person who believes nothing is perfect. This company and their products are the exception. I have just recently gotten into backpacking, where weight actually matters. I’ve always been a big camper and outdoorsman, and I’ve had an ENO that I’ve always used previously. I wanted something that fit what I was looking for more specifically, and something that I could really customize. This hammock is absolutely perfect for that. I ended up selling my ENO doublenest to buy a DutchWare, and its been an incredible decision. If you’re trying to decide on a new or even first hammock, I wouldn’t bother looking anywhere else. I researched a handful of companies, and for the money, this is the best hammock out there. It doesn’t weigh hardly anything, and I was able to customize to the specifications I wanted. I definitely recommend it to anyone!
Another huge aspect in any purchase I make is the company and how they treat their customers. DutchWare provided a level of service that I have actually not managed to find elsewhere. Throughout the whole process, they kept me updated on production and shipping, and once I received my hammock, they checked to make sure it met my expectations. After I purchased my hammock, I ordered a set of clips and some amsteel as well, and they sent it along with my hammock at no additional shipping cost. Everyone I’ve spoken to, and the company as a whole has been kind, quick, and eager to please. Thank you so much DutchWare for this fantastic buying experience!

2. Questions. What is a dual knotty mod?
Also do i need to order anything special in an order to get continuous loops on the hammock?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
Carolyn Palmer –
Here is a video on what the knotty mod does for you:
https://youtu.be/YSyWFOXgNfA
It will basically take care of the extra fabric.
You will not need to order anything special besides ordering the continuous loops to go with the continuous loops.

Got a chance to test out my new double layer hammock lastnight,
Got a chance to test out my new double layer hammock lastnight, this is the first hammock I have ever owned and will never go back to a tent again. Was the most comfortable sleep I have ever gotten. Perfect addition to my survival/camping gear setups will be ordering another when allowed to do so. So lightweight, easy setup, great quality, great price and wonderful customer service to help me make my mind up on setup and purchase.

I absolutely love this hammock! I have been missing out while using my ENO. This is a superb hammock. I use the spider tree huggers and couldn’t be more happy! Great set up! I have the argon pillow but have not used it yet but I know it will be no different than any other Dutch product I have…Amazing and great quality. Thanks Dutch! Kalvin

Why are the 11 ft and 12 ft hammock the same weight at 145 g in Cloud71?

Alex Thomas –
That is likely an error on the website. The 12ft will certainly weigh a little bit more.
