Description

We’re taking lightweight to the next level with our Winter Tarp made with Dyneema® Composite Fabric! With the added “doors” on this tarp it provides great coverage from the elements while not adding a ton of weight to your pack. The tarp will include 1/2-inch Beastee Dee® Rings on the ground tie-outs and 1-inch Beastee Dee® Rings for the ridgeline. The tarp will come complete with its own stuff sack made with Dyneema® Composite Fabric.

Crafted with .51 Dyneema® Composite Fabric, the Winter Tarp is the ultimate in durability. The high-end laminate material makes for an ultralight yet entirely waterproof hammock tarp. Super strong tarp fabric ensures it can stand the tests of weather and time to keep you dry in any situation.

The Winter Tarp comes in a ridgeline length of 132-inches (11-feet) or 144-inches (12-feet). The hammock tarp dimensions include a width of 8-feet, 6-inches, with optional side pullout panels available. This sizing makes the tarp large enough to cover any hiker and their gear while still being compact and light enough to slide virtually unnoticed into any pack.

Specifications:

I do not see a option for pole mods. Are there any pole mods that will work with this tarp? I notice other tarps come with the option of center pole mods…..

  2. Question

Does the 12′ version with side panel pull outs work with a Banyon Bridge hammock? (although the panel pull outs are not especially positioned a for brige hammock like at the Bonded Ultralight Xenon Rectangle Tarp if you choose that option)

It is difficult to fit a Banyan Bridge hammock under a Dyneema tarp because you are limited on width. Yes, we COULD place the Side Panel Pullouts in a more ideal position for the Banyan Bridge, but you are likely going to have the Banyan poles rubbing against your tarp or you could set the tarp up higher to avoid that, then you sacrifice the tarp being set up too high to offer the desired protection. This is why we don’t offer the Side Panel Pullouts for Banyan Bridge on Dyneema tarps. It is only an option on the Xenon tarps which are wider. – Gwendolyn

  3. Question

    jameslazowski

Is the tarp rectangular 8’6” x 12’ with added triangles of dyneema to form the “doors” or simply an 8’6” x 12’ rectangle with tie downs on the sides to allow the corners of the tarp to fold down and form the doors? Thanks

Hi James, the ridgeline for the tarps are either 11-feet or 12-feet, depending on what you choose. The doors are NOT included in that length. Each panel is one piece of fabric with the doors begin cut at a different angle so that the doors are even with the sides of the tarp when the doors are closed. When the doors are closed, the tarp shape is hex.

    Didn't last for price

    Jennifer Dohner (verified owner)

I had mine for 4 seasons. Probably used it 35x total. At the beginning of the fourth season the seams began leaking. Later in the season the material developed lots of tiny holes as if it were starting to disintegrate. It was never in really harsh temps, i always stored it dry and inside when not backpacking.other than its light weight. Im very disappointed with this product.

    Dyneema Winter Tarp

I have been traveling and using this winter tarp for 3 years now. I always hang the tarp in a sleeve above my hammock so that it’s ready to be deployed, it can really save you even if the forecast says 0% chance of rain. It’s held up through some big storms and patches easily with DCF repair tape. Super light! Dutchware makes the best hammock gear!
