Description

The Challenge ULTRA™ line of fabrics is composed of the highest performing UHMWPE composite fabrics in the world.

In a class of its own, ULTRA™ represents a new paradigm in durability and weight. ULTRA™ weave is constructed with an optimal blend of UHMWPE & high-tenacity polyester. The tight weave is laminated with an eco-friendly adhesive to our revolutionary Challenge RUV™ film. The result is a textile that is incredibly strong, lightweight, and waterproof to 200 psi. ULTRA™ performs in the harshest environments, in both sub-zero and tropical climates.

Challenge ULTRA™ is the ultimate in ultralight pack fabric, with the strength to go the distance in the most demanding backpacks and duffels. Our woven ULTRA™ line, ranging from 100d to 800d, is elevating adventure sports to the next level.

UHMWPE

Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene

UHMWPE fibers are the lightest and strongest fibers commercially available, with a tensile strength 15x stronger than steel.  UHMWPE is created by a gel-spun extrusion process which draws out extremely long chains of polyethylene, aligned along a molecular backbone.  This alignment effectively transfers load through the fiber for high modulus and strength.
