Description
This is a 1 inch UHMWPE and polyester mixed webbing which is what gives it the cool look. We’ve designed this webbing to be a lighter weight (5.5 grams per foot) alternative to regular polyester webbing but still work with buckles unlike kevlar webbing. This is a great middle ground when it comes to webbings. The key features of this webbing are that it weighs less than polyester webbing, has very low stretch and it works perfect with cinch buckles, spiders, Dutch buckles, etc.
Tree huggers have one 3.5 inch loop on each end of the webbing. They can be used whoopie sling and whoopie hook suspensions.

Question
Alys Spillman –
Can you clarify the difference between a tree hugger and a strap?

Carolyn Palmer –
A tree hugger will have a loop on either end and the strap will only have a loop on one end.

Question
connermcgrew –
I already have the beetle buckle suspension kit. If I order a 7′ hugger set, would it work with the beetle buckles I have currently?

DutchWare Gear –
Huggers will not work as both ends have a sewn loop. You will need to get either the 6′ or 8′ strap as the strap will have an open end to put the beetle buckle hardware on it.

I got the 5′ huggers to use with homemade whoopie slings and replace my Atlas straps. The whole set up (huggers, slings) weighs less than one Atlas strap! Fantastic!

Would these straps slip if I’m just using the becket hitch?

The spider/poly straps will work with the Beckett hitch.

I upgraded my cheap hammock suspension daisy chain system to the Dutchware cinch buckle with 12′ spider-poly straps. So far im 100% satisfied with the upgrade. I get the perfect hang everytime! I went with the spider-poly straps with the cinch buckles because I weigh in at 300lbs. I feel more secure with the weight limits vs the poly straps with the cinch buckles. So far theres been no slipping on the cinch buckles. Although, I do use a slippery half hitch off the buckles just in case. I recommend for the heavier folks out there who enjoy the hang.

Question
Jesse Gebauer –
With the max option of 7′ hugger, that means the max tree size is 2.22′ in diameter, correct? Seems too small to be useful where I live. Or does the hugger not need to wrap completely around the tree if using with a whoopie sling for example?

Dave Gantz –
Correct, the hugger does not need to wrap completely around the tree in certain scenarios.

Question
Kenneth Villa –
What is the difference between your poly straps and poly huggers? They both seem to have an option for sewn loops at both ends. I’m just starting out and planning my initial gear but and am at my research stage for a lot of things still.

Dave Gantz –
Our straps have one sewn loop on one end, while the huggers have a sewn loop at both ends.
