DutchWare Gear –
It will work for a short period of time but is not meant to store your alcohol in as over time it will bubble.

I bought two pouches and tested them with methanol storage for an Esbit stove. While full, they conformed and fit well inside the stove kit. I had asked a question here about storage of alcohol for a cook stove and was told, “It will work for a short period of time but is not meant to store your alcohol in as over time it will bubble.” I decided to experiment and left a pouch filled with methanol in my stove kit for two months. After that time period, it had developed the slightest bit of dampness at a seam on the bottom. The leak was so small, I couldn’t find it, even after drying the bag and squeezing it, which would just produce some more almost imperceptible dampness. From my decidedly non scientific experiment, I think a person could easily get six weeks storage of methanol without leakage. These things are cheap, durable and a nice methanol storage option.
