Grab a bunch!

This little carabiner weighs almost nothing, yet takes a lot of pull weight, and they’re dirt cheap. My recommendation is to buy a bunch and keep them handy to use as attachment points, etc., as the need arises. The one thing to be aware of is that they’re not as easy to open as a standard carabiner — they don’t have a hinge on which the gate swings freely. But some decent thumb pressure will do it. If you’re hooking up and unhooking many times a day a standard carabiner is better, but if you’re hooking up once a day (e.g., hanging something off your pack or rigging shelter), these can’t be beat.
