The shorts are great (Mine are an XL pair weighing in at 1.4 ozs.) , but even if they weren’t I’d still rate them 5 stars based on customer service alone! I ordered the l/xl size. They were too small for me so I sent them back and explained my issue with them. They promptly made me a larger pair and had them to me in just a few days. Dutch is da man!!!

Great customer service!! These are very comfortable! So lightweight and good airflow… sometimes when I’m mowing the yard in these I have to look down to make sure I have pants on. Will be wearing all summer!

Love these. Not much out there that comes close to filling this need. I plan on using them for summer sleepwear.
I have both sizes (S/M and M/L). My actual waist circumference is 39” but my pants say 36”. The M/L had a fair amount of extra waist fabric. Not so much that it was a problem but given that I was trying to get as light as possible I ordered the S/M. Normally I wouldn’t have ever thought I could fit a S/M. The S/M fits my waist with a tiny bit of extra fabric. I am still losing weight and hopefully I lose some more of the “junk in my trunk” because my badonkadonk is currently making the fabric way tighter than is safe. I would not want to bend over in the S/M. So, upshot is go by your pants size and not an actual measurement of your waist but consider whether you got a big booty.

Edit – I’ve now hiked in these for 30 miles over 4 days and am upgrading them to 5 stars. Dutch says these are laundry shorts, not meant for active hiking and the like, but I found them very comfortable to hike it, even up to 12 miles (the most I’ve done in a day in these). The only issue with using them as an active short is the crotch seam rubs my thigh slightly, but only became an issue after 10 miles, and even then it wasnt bad to the point I turned them inside out (no seam on the outside, so this could work for long days). They would still be more comfortable with a higher crotch as mentioned below, but it was only an issue when taking large step up’s (like climbing on to a 2′ boulder). I think these are a valid option for reducing your skin out weight on short to medium length trips.
Original – I got the Argon version and really like the thinness of the fabric and the breathability. The small/medium size fits me well with my 34″ waist. They are incredibly light, like wearing nothing.
The only complaint is the waist-to-crotch distance is too long. They are the correct length overall, but the leg tubes need to start 2.5″ higher.
I really like the weight, fabric, craftsmanship, color, and feel, but the crotch cut is all wrong. Dutch team, please look into modifying your clothing cut (and sizes of the wind shirt, we need something for a normal 40″ chest). Your products clothing products are 100% perfect except for the cut/sizing and all your hammock stuff is flawless!

These shorts are great. Super light and feel good. It’s like wearing nothing. The stuff sack pocket can be used to put a little bit of money and a couple cards. I’d recomendable wéaring a Fanny pack for storing items on you though. I like these shorts a lot cause they are super compact. You can keep a pair in your car for swimming. They also will dry incredibly fast. I like the shock cord drawstring too. It’s essy to use and works. The shorts are simple and light. You could even make these your main hiking shorts if you wanted too, they’d be perfect for hot days, really let’s the air flow through.
It’s literlaly like wearing nothing

End of hike, sink washing clothes…glad I had tucked these into my pack so that I had something to wear. Super light, easy to just toss in the pack.

On the dutchware YouTube channel Dutch mentions they offer these shorts in hexon 1.0.
Is that no longer an option?

What is the best way to wash these? I manage to make everything stink!

You can wash them in a delicate cycle and then hang them to dry.

I’m a 5’2″ woman with a 28″ waist and some junk in the trunk. The S/M fit well. With the drawstring, the waist is completely adjustable, and they are roomy enough that they will be comfy to sleep in and/or sit around camp. I may not win any fashion awards, but thankfully the mountains don’t care. Thank you for making these and for the fast delivery!
