My orange 100ft length came Thursday, I enamored at how light and thin it was all evening. Found a sharp knife, lighter, plastic yarn needle and a big nail. Handful of YouTube videos later, My girlfriend and I were hanging in my nearest national park. Less stretch than her slap straps. Mailbox to campout in 24hrs. Only takes an instant to adjust the woopie for the exact angle I wanted. No more half hitches or slip knots in bulky webbing, or carabiners!! Soft shackles and whoopies from now on!
Comes neatly bundled. Pre-tensioned and silky smooth. Opens up clean and effortless for a fid, needle, or awl. Tightened down and locks exactly like I dreamed.

That this stuff is strong enough to hang my fat rump from a tree without letting me down….. Miraculous. LIGHT and STRONG! I like making rope things out of it. I moto camp. So I carry some extra with me for campsite crafts. Please get a strap for protecting tree bark if you hang on this and I’ll save a tree for you too.

I just measured the roll that is currently opened, and I am getting 2.8mm when the rope has not tension or is not being squished. The diameter will change, becoming thinner, when there is tension or being squished.

Anyone know for sure whether or not the silver color reflects a bit of UV light compared to other colors? I’m sure it’s possible and probably negligible, but has anyone seen data on this or noticed it lasts longer in the sun? Otherwise I want the black to stick closer to earth tones.

This is some super stuff! It was easy to splice and it made some great whoopie slings. It wasn’t hard to work with for a beginner like me. I only have some tiny issues. First the orange color isn’t the same as what is pictured above. The color i got is a Burnt orange and not the bright orange I see on my phone and laptop. Second i was super surprised to see that only after a very short lay, the whoopie hooks had made a shiny spot on the amsteel. But I’m new at this so maybe that’s normal. Still an awesome product that I’m happy to have and hang with.

Continuous Loops, Whoopie Slings? I’m not sure whether it’s more fun to make them or use them but they are more than adequate to do the job! With Dutch as a source we have not only the best value and “he read my mind” shipping speed but also color options! I prefer blue head loops/straps and red for the feet or black (really grey)across the board. Makes set-up easy and adding his Whoopie hooks brings a hammock set-up into the 2min range! Love it!

I bought 50 feet of black amsteel so I could make soft shackles, hammock suspension and continuous loops and it worked out great. Do yourself a favor and get the 10 inch tool it makes the adjustable ridgeline alot less frustrating.
