Description

This UQP is dual use. It can be used to hold an insulating pad in place or protect an UQ. This UQP for Pad is meant to hold your sleeping pad in position or keep your underquilt clean, and is great for helping retain warmth in your underquilt on windy and/or rainy days. The UQP is designed to cover a full-length underquilt, not the hammock body. These protectors have longer shock cord channels with heavier shock cord than the standard UQP. Cord adjusters snug up the protector to the underquilt with or without a pad. Each end has ample shock cording to attach to the hammock suspension.  These UQP’s are made with Argon 90 fabrics.

  • Weight of Argon 90 UQP Gathered End – 5.4 ozs.
  • Comes in its own mesh stuff sack
  • Dimensions: 54″W x 98-100″L

Installation Suggestions:

  1. Hang hammock and underquilt
  2. Use underquilt hardware to attach one end of the UQP (with the shock cord pulled out and the fabric gathered together) to the hammock suspension as close to the hammock as possible.
  3. Attach the other end of the UQP the same way as step 2.
  4. While laying in the hammock, determine if the bottom of the UQP is too tight or loose to the bottom of the underquilt. Adjust the shockcord appropriately so the UQP hangs evenly across the length of the underquilt.
  5. Cinch the side adjusters to raise the sides of the UQP to the desired tension.

  1. Question

    bearcwy

I bought one of your 2QZQ underquilt protectors. I just got it out to test it and see how it is supposed to set up and attach to the hammock. I saw the shock cord and cord locks for the ends and the shock cord and locks at the sides. there is also 4 tabs one at each corner. Is there supposed to be additional shock cord for the suspension attached the the tabs? Please help in the proper way to set it up on my chameleon hammock.

Hi. Just received mine in the mail. Found a note with setup tips in the bag. Nice, but would be even nicer if your could copy the text here online. A paper note I will soon loose track of, finding the text here (and on my hard drive) for easy reprinting would be nice. Also the note shares a very long URL to the hammock forums about a tips on how to use and adjust the UQP with a sleeping pad. Please post the link here so I do not have to type it out 🙂

Why did I wait so long.

I use to rely on my tarp to keep me comfortable & dry while hammock camping.
I Bought 2QZQ under quilt protector in 5/2022, to help when the weather would throw me an curveball.
After using it in mostly in wet weather or freezing temperatures over the last year I am very happy with how my comfort level has increased.
I pack this any time there is a chance of rain or when I’m winter hammock camping.
