Question
P_O_Ally –
There are getting to be enough hangers that we need to be conscious of the trees in campgrounds. I’m going to start hauling 2″ whenever we might be hanging in a heavy use spot. The vision of my mass drawing a piece of amsteel into the “usual place” in a polypro loop makes me worry about wear on something besides the tree. If I add a 42 g. ‘biner to protect the strap we are up to the weight of the seatbelt web. That is exactly what I’ll do for now.
When might we see a 2″ Dutchclip or other dignified attachment?

Carolyn Palmer –
There is no plan to make a 2″ dutch clip as one of the purposes of the dutch clip is to save in weight and a 2″ dutch clip weighs the same as a carabiner. So we will recommend you to just use a carabiner.

Polypropylene or polyester? I think there is a difference…

DutchWare Gear –
Yes there is a difference. Polypropylene will absorb less water and dry faster but polyester is more UV resistant. They are both synthetic materials so the color will not fade as it is a part of the material. The breaking strength will be similar as well.

I’d like to see a 2″ Adutchable. That would truly make it possible to bring the remainder of the suspension nicely close to the tree.
