1/8 Amsteel Blue (25 Feet) Gray

I picked up enough 1/8 Amsteel Blue to make some continuous loops for attaching Cinch Buckles to two hammocks and used the left overs for a beefy ridge line. I opted for the 1/8 because of the added peace of mind. Very easy to splice with a piece of 19 gauge steel wire. I took a 12 inch section and separated the cords and that provided a nice thread for stitching the loops to ensure they wont come apart under light or no load.

I had no trouble with the Gray coloring coming off on my hands or fading. Arrived well packaged with no tangles or frayed ends.

I got a hundred feet of silver/grey to play with. I’ve made near everything I need.
Sales, shipping and amount of time from Dutchware has been great.
May make some different anchor lines for my tensa solo poles in case I need to anchor to something other than the boom stakes.

I’m leaving a review now 8, almost 9 years later. I first purchased splicing hardware and both 7/64 & 1/8 Amsteel from Dutch waaaay back in 2017 to refurbish my (now 21-year old) Hennesy Classic as well a newer Hennessy Zip for my son for our 8-day Allagash kayak trip. I reconfigured both hammock suspensions back then and saved easily 2 pounds each from the traditional Hennessy rope/Strap configuration. I admit we got a lot of weird looks and plenty of “Will that tiny yellow rope really hold you in your hammock?!!??” questions from other scouts & leaders, but I think I sold them on the lighter suspension, as they were all starting to get into hanging.
Anyway, Fast Forward 8 years and here I am purchasing another hammock, but this time a Dutchware and purchasing with Amsteel suspension components. It takes me a while to leave a review, but if the product works over time, it will be a glowing review (and this one is…) And if folks wonder why I went with Hennessy originally, it was simply because I don’t think Dutch was fully started when I bought my first hammock around 2004. When I bought the 2nd hammock for my son a decade later, I had not yet started fussing with suspension options, still thinking it was too complex. But when his hammock arrived and I realized it was around 7 lbs with ropes, straps, skins and biners; as a LASH, (Toolshed here) I knew I needed to look into lighter options. Hence Hammock forums led me to Dutchware. Thanks Dutch!!
