I had been using my Costco hammock on and off for the last couple of years to see if I’d like hammock camping. I was kind of confused about what I needed to get for a real set up and after some research I found this package. Im so glad that I decided to go with this. It comes with everything you need and it’s all easy to set up. The hammock itself is very comfortable and it doesn’t take forever to get in a comfortable position. I was comfortable side sleeping in it as well. I was able to finagle my old under quilt to fit without any problems. I had to set the tarp up in pretty high winds on our last trip and it stayed nice and tight and I didn’t have to readjust it at all on my days. The whole system packs up nice and light and doesn’t take up a lot of room. Customer service was great-they answered all my questions quickly!

The shipping weight, including stuff sack and other items, is listed just above the orange “Add to Cart” button. The Hexon 1.0 option is just under 2.5 pounds, while the Hexon 1.6 option is just over 2.5 pounds.

Why does this hammock package weigh so much more than the netted hammock package?

The Chameleon hammock is a bit heavier than the Half-Zipped hammock. Also, the Chameleon package includes 2 x 15′ Spider/Poly straps, while the Netted package includes 2 x 12′ Spider Daisy Chain straps.

I’m completely new to hammock camping, so I need everything! Is this a good package for beginners? My old bones don’t love sleeping on the ground anymore, but my young heart won’t give up backpacking! I hope hammock camping will bridge that gap! Thanks!

This is an excellent pacakage. If it is not bug season, you can leave the bugnet at home. If you start to camp is cooler conditions, you can purchase the top cover and use it instead of the bugnet.
