Too cool not to useThere are many ways to rig a tarp, and after trying several I am giving these a shot. In hand, they are just too small and light not to use. I am excited to no longer fight the prussik. I ordered mine with the Reflect-it line. A friend was using it and I had to have it! Thanks Dutch for making such awesome products.

Simply amazing, much better system than my previous nite-ize figure 9’s, plus with these you get to use more of the tarp line if the trees are too far apart.Simply amazing, much better system than my previous nite-ize figure 9’s, plus with these you get to use more of the tarp line if the trees are too far apart.

Fantastic accessory.Fantastic accessory. I have one on each end of my tarp to quickly and easily tension the ridge line in leu of a continuous ridgeline. Quicker to set up and take down, and almost as easy to adjust as prussik knots.

I got a pair of these and attached them to the split rings on the ends of my Warbonnet Minifly’s ridgeline, and used 12′ lengths of zing-it to wrap around each tree and back through the tarp flyz. So for that part of the tarp setup it takes me barely a minute to get the tarp up and centered. The only downside is that I pull this setup super tight (too tight perhaps?), so the last time I was in the Boundary Waters using this it was cold and rainy and was a little difficult to pull the zing-it from the flyz. Had to wrap extra zing-it around my hand a few times and give a good quick jerk (similar to releasing from a hookworm). Not troublesome enough to warrant anything less than 5 stars because overall these make my whole configuration much faster.

Jon Dickes –
Silly question, the title says “pair”, so is it $15 for 1, or $15 for 2?

You will get two flyz as a pair is two. This does not mean two sets of two and 4 flyz. You will get one pair or two flyz.

I don’t mind tying my ridge lines, but these doo dads make it so easy and quick to set up. They weigh practically nothing and are super strong.
I love these things!

Received my 2 flyz on Zing-It within 5 days with regular USPS, and that was counting the New Year holiday, so great turnaround. I also got 2 wasps on Zing-It.
Tried them out immediately. Directions come in the package, or you can see the directions on the website picture above. This makes hanging my tarp so much easier. I know a few knots, but am not an expert yet. When I tried using knots to secure my tarp to trees, inevitably the knot would slip at night or when the wind picked up. No more of that. I can now get my tarp up in a fraction of the time, and it doesn’t collapse on me later.
Thanks!

I’ve heard of DutchWare from forums and podcasts and what not. Now I see what all the fuss is about. I was using the five, err ten minute method for hanging a fly over my hammock, but now it’s closer to five seconds. I couple these with Dutch Hooks on the other end of Zing it. There are a lot of options out there.

small and mighty
This is a great product for your tarp. I only wish they would offer the choice of buying a single tarp flyz.. I just add mine to key ring and leave it attached to the tarp ridge line. The one thing to watch is if you pull the line to tight it can be hard to get out.

Game changer
Amazing the difference a extremely small/light piece of hardware makes in the set up of my warbonnet superfly.

A great investment!
As a Newbie to hammocking, finding things that make my trips a bit easier is crucial. These flyz really are easy to use and very light weight. The ONLY downsize, is the fact that they (and many other hardware devices here) are so tiny, they are very easy to lose if you don’t have them fastened permanently to something.

Perform perfectly
These make setting up super fast, and are very easy to tie out. You can also get the ridge very tight because of the way you pull on the flyz which helps a lot in windy conditions. My only ding is that they are small so a little hard to move if you need them closer to the tree, and this is somewhat harder in cold temperatures. Overall a great little product, especially for those that don’t like to mess around with knots! Great innovation as always from Dutch!

Sweetness
This coupled with a Dutch hook makes for a fast set up that’s super light. I use it with the zing it.

Question
KevinP –
Not really a question, more just a response to the question below about the 2.3mm line: I have been successfully using a generic polyester masonry type line (I think it was meant for super-heavy duty kites) I picked up in Bali Indonesia, and the specs read 2.1 mm. It is a little tight if you have to slide the flyz into a different point on the line every night, but not really that much trouble at all compared to the benefit of the hardware in general. Still much more preferable than tying knots or using a figure 9, etc.. I have found that I don’t even have to do the “loop over itself” technique to lock its location on the line, possibly in part to the greater friction of the line and the tighter fit. in my humble view, this hardware is so great, don’t hesitate to buy them over concern with line diameter. I promise you will be happier with the hardware and just switching to a thinner line if you have to, than not having the hardware at all.

Can never have enough
I already had these on all my tarps and bugnets, but they are so awesome I decided to order a few sets for my non-hammock related needs as well. I am going to use some for the clotheslines we have outside that we have to “take-down” often, and for the tie outs in my truck bed to secure some of the lighter cargo I haul regularly. Truly a genius design, surprised nite-eyez hasn’t tried to rip it off or buy it yet.

So happy these exist!
I bought these with 12′ reflect it and I’m very pleased with how they work and the quality. They have never slipped, even during windy weather. I use these for my tarp ridgeline. A camping buddy was so envious of my setup that I bought him a pair aswell. The reflect it is a nice feature for when its dark. All in all, I’m very happy with the product and Dutchware customer service.

They have always been secure and have never slipped even during windy weather. The reflect it is easy to spot in the dark when using a flashlight. A camping buddy of mine was so envious of my setup that I bought him a pair aswell. You won’t be dissapointed with gear from Dutchware.

Hate knots, love these!
I bought a pair of these for the ridgeline ends of my tarp and now I’ve decided to get four more to use for my tieouts. My wife wasn’t impressed when I held them out in the palm of my hand and said “This is what $18 worth of titanium looks like” but some people just don’t understand. These work great, are very small and on the tie out lines they’ll tuck right into the corner pockets of the tarp with no problem. There are no sharp edges either so I don’t anticipate them causing any damage to the tarp. Excellent!

I’ve had mine for a few years and still love them. Light, indestructible, easy to use, small enough to be virtually weightless but big enough to be easy to use. With Zing-it line these Flyz are the beez kneez.

Simple, safe, secure. I bought 2 but I think I’ll only be using 1 and tie off the other end. I like that I can get these tight as possible, no slippage, with almost no effort.
