I got the wide winter tarp I want to add snaps to the doors will the material the tarp is made of and the rolled edge be strong enough to put snaps in that rolled edge and not tear out? Do I need to add grosgrain to the edge?

Kai –
I used the tarp for the first time this weekend. We had gusts of 40+ mph during setup and throughout the night. I bought a snakeskin as well and setup was easy. The tarp rattled in the Windaus should be expected but all stakes and tie-outs stayed put. This morning I awoke to the sound of ice sliding right off the tarp.
Take down was easy as well since no ice accumulated and the snakeskin made packing up a breeze.
Between the weight, size and easy setup I don’t think there is anything that comes close on the market.

Question
Bob Waltenspiel –
How are the four doors held shut? I appears that they connect tightly in some fashion but neither the description or video describe it.
What additional hardware required to hold the doors shut in windy conditions?

Carolyn –
You can stake them out or use tarp door hooks or mitten hooks to fasten them to the adjacent corner tie out.

Question
spathmasterflex –
I have an 11ft Hammock do you recommend a 12 foot tarp?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
Dave Gantz –
Since the hammock will sag a bit while hanging, an 11 foot tarp is fine for an 11 foot hammock. We suggest a 12 foot hammock if you want to hang two hammock side by side, though.
