    Weird design

There’s a ton of insulation on the sole, and quite a bit on the upper foot area, but for some reason the area around the toes is devoid of insulation along the horizontal seam. I’m not sure why the insulation is so uneven but I think these booties would do a better job if the insulation was even throughout, especially since it’s usually my toes that are cold and not my soles or upper.

I’ve been wanting to get some synthetic booties, but everywhere I looked the price just wasn’t right. Well, leave it to Dutch, these booties are great! I got a pair for myself and for my girlfriend and I’m looking forward to taking them out this coming weekend for a nice cold winter trip!

I have purchased most of my gear from Dutchware Gear and have been impressed with the practicality, quality and value. These booties are no exception! Camped out in wet / freezing conditions, feet were toasty warm!

    Poorly executed

They work but could have been much better. There are two seams: one down the top of the foot and one around the sole. The one down the front is fine, there is a pseudo baffle that keeps the insulation thick. The seam around the sole is simply sewn-through leading to a mere double thickness of fabric (near-zero insulation) around the base of the foot. Including the toes.

There is ample stuffing but the design minimizes it where it’s needed most.

The photo shows the toe of a boot. The darker area is where the insulation has migrated away.

  7. Question

    Derik Fife

I noticed a discrepancy on the site while I determining my size. The sizing in the item description doesn’t match the sizing guide in the images. (S=9″, M =11″, L=13″ on the guide vs S=11″, M=12″, L=14″ in the description) I’m in between sizes so which is most accurate?

  8. Question

    Neal Clark

I see that when I pick size L it shows me a weight of 199.9 g, which is about 7.1 oz. But the specs say size L is 6.1 oz. One ounce either way doesn’t matter to me, but I know for some folks it does, so I figured I would ask just to clarify. Thanks!

There will be some variation with every pair. I just double checked a pair of L with stuff sack and the weight was 210g.

    Hot pockets

I used to throw hot hands (chemical reaction hand warmers) in my socks, but now I just put these bad boys on. Pretty sure I’ll end up using them as a 2nd pillow at some point as well.
