Great for shock cord on pack fronts

I looked at these things for weeks trying to figure out what in the world one would be used for and then it hit me that they would be perfect for shock cord on a pack front. I think that most people just thread the shock cord like they are lacing a shoe with an “x” or two and then secure with a cord lock. Now imagine that instead of making the “x” by crossing the shock cord, you clip the cord together with a hook to make the “x”. This allows you to unclip the “x” and then clip it back around whatever you want to secure. If you replace the hook with this contraption, you don’t need the cord lock at the top because this device does both the clipping and the cord locking. Brilliant.

I’m also thinking about using them on tenkara packs to clip the top of the rods to the pack. Shock cord and a cord lock works fine for that, but with this device you wouldn’t have to lift the rod up or down through the loop, just clip and unclip.
