Essential part of my kitThis is much more convenient, lighter, and more compact than the homemade reflectix freezer bag cook system I used to use. When used in conjunction with the Dutchware bowl bags, you have a no mess cook system that stands up on it’s own. Took a recent trip and all my friends had floppy freezer bags gushing out all over the place. I sat relaxed and ate my meal with no mess. As an added bonus. I now make my coffee in my Ti cup then wrap the bowl bivy around my cup. This keeps my coffee hot instead of lukewarm which is what usually happens. This is an odd product to describe, but it’s been a game changer in my cooking setup.

Sorry, I meant could you make a video of the actual Bivy to see how it stands up and the bag fits in?

Dutch, can you make a video on this to see the size and how well it stands up with the bag of food/water in it?

It will hold 44 ounces (1.3 Liters) of liquid and you can close it. It will stand on its own with that amount of liquid in it. It is 9″wide by 7″tall. Here is a video of Shugg using it:

    Hello Dutch team,

Is it possible to order this bag with 2 d-rings or even webbing loops for me to attach a handle or hang it on things?
Thanks for considering. I can be patient and would expect a surcharge.

Great addition to the ultralight camp kitchen

Yes, this is made to fit the bowl bags (which it does – and they’re great for DIY dehydrated meals), but it’s also just the right size for meals from some other brands and makes a good pot cozy as well. I found it also makes a good neck pillow when stuffed with a puffy vest.

Works well with the Bowl Bag

    Tom B. (verified owner)

Used this Bivy with the Dutch Bowl Bag last week while hammock camping. It kept my instant grits hot much longer than I expected. Fits nicely with the Dutch bowl and continued to sit flat and stable. With no folded corners, this combo is much easier to eat out of than regular freezer bags or even commercial freeze dried meals.

    Multi functional

I just returned from a backpacking trip where temperatures were well below freezing. I put all my “can’t freezables” inside my socks and inside this bag. I added a hand warmer also. Next morning everything was toasty and my socks were dry! Love it!
