I decided to try this material with a waterproof zipper and make a large zipper pouch for a food bag in place of a more traditional stuff sack. The advantage being that it’s easier to rummage around in a zipper pouch than it is through the mouth of a stuff sack. I sewed loops to each end for hanging and to act as a water break for the unavoidable small gap in the zipper where the pull closes. The weight of the material seems perfect for this application and I’m very impressed with the strength of the DCF. There were some slightly darker linear bands in the material which I assume is just a byproduct of the manufacturing process, most likely a slightly denser concentration of fibers, so probably adding strength if anything, but maybe something to be aware of if aesthetics are more important than function for you. I highly recommend the material.
