We have constructed the pup bowl out of 1.3 Dyneema® Composite with all the seams sealed with Dyneema® tape making the bowl completely waterproof. It will compact down so small that your dog should have no problem carrying their very own meal/water bowl.

Really great piece of gear. My dogs first UL gear which he carries in his Ruffwear Approach pack !It weighs about as much as a piece of paper.and packs down to the size of a matchbook. It holds water well and my dog drank right out of it. This will work not only great for hiking and backpacking but for trail running as well since it’ll fit right in the pocket. Stiching seems well done and unlike the standard foldable nylon dog bowl I do not expect this one to soak through after 10 minutes. Love that someone (DG) is making quality UL dog gear.

Two years ago, I picked up two bowls for our pup. The excellent sewing and seam sealing on this light weight fabric allows water (and food) to remain in the bowl for hours after a long day of hiking or biking. The Pup Bowl folds up so small my 40 lb dog can carry them in his backpack. They add very little weight when bikepacking, and when overlanding the bowls don’t leak when we set food out overnight in the Jeep.

Great question. The bowl itself is 5.2grams. It ships in a zip lock baggie, so the shipping weight is about 7 grams.
