  2. Question

    mksugarman

With the DWR coating, is this jacket windproof and waterproof so it could be used as a rain jacket while backpacking? Is the Argon fabric more breathable than nylon or polyester used in other jackets?

The DWR coating is very light and does not make the jacket waterproof. It would keep you dry in a light rain or mist for a short time but it wouldn’t keep you dry like a real rain jacket. The ARGON 90 fabric has great breathability at around 40 CFM.

  3. Question

It is stated iin the video that with the DWR on the jacket it sheed water. However is it water proof??

Here is a suggestion to improve your jacket. Why not have the pockets higher to have easier access to grab a map or other items? I personally find it impossible to use the pockets when the hip belt is over the pockets and I cannot access anything. I had this problem in the military when I was issued the Gortex rain jacket. It was useless to me when I could not open my pockets and made if frustrating to take off my LBE and then go dig out my maps or notes. This is something to think about
