I love this liner but don’t use it as one really nor did I ever intend. From later spring sprring till fall I typically carry extremely light setups (Sul or lighter I’d say 95% of my hikes) and as such don’t tend to always use gear as intended. With the quilt liner I actually use it as an bivy when needed, and since I’m using an eight ounce quilt it also gives me a little more warmth as I approach the bags comfort rating of °50 f. The shelter I use for most of my trips is an Hexamid with no doors which works fine the majority of the time but in those rare occasions I misjudge my site location or cannot setup as I want too the liner does a fine job as a minimalist bivy bag keeping the splash off of my down sleeping bag.
The liner is shaped like a quilt so unlike most actual bivy bags I have to use a ground sheet but I find the two lighter in weight when desired anyways. The lightest dedicated bivy I can find at the moment for sale I believe comes in over four ounces but with the liner and a cheap polycryo ground sheet cut to fit I can easily keep the setup to sub four. Not a huge difference but it’ll make a difference to gram counters.
Lastly I found using the liner as such is far more comfortable and has less condensation issues than stand alone splash bivys and even some bug bivys. It’s not a replacement in all situations but I find for me it works better in most. Ive tried and failed using splash bivys on the east coast, this actually works for me though and allows me to carry a versatile and crazy light shelter.

I recently used this liner when I camped out on my friends farm. The temp was to get down to the high 30’s . At first I did not used it when I wen to bed. I woke up a bit chilled and I had the liner and put it inside my top quilt. I was nice and toasty. What I like about it I can pull it over my head. So I had a good sleep until morning. This liner (2.36Oz) is lighter that my silk liner (4.6 oz). I would highly recommend this liner.
Update: I measured it and the Length is 69″ , Width is 55″ and Feet 48″
Back in November 2022, I was at High-Top Shelter in the SNP. It got down to 22 degrees and my 30 degree top quilt and underquilt were barely keeping me warm. I pulled out quilt liner, slipped it over me and tucked back into my top quilt. I immediately felt warm again and went back to sleep. I keep this with me anytime I camp overnight. Thanks Dutch!!

I bought one of these at the beginning of the Summer season. I’ve used it extensively outdoors (8 weeks), and now indoors. It feels really soft and comfortable and yet it’s incredibly thin. I prefer it to any cotton or silk liner I’ve used. It has plenty of space and doesn’t feel at all restricted. I only wish that it were available in a colour other than Black.

Yes, the idea is it is easier to wash it than to wash your quilt. I would use gentle cycle and woollite or a good technical detergent. in warm or cold water. It is nylon.

Love it!
Just got back from a week on the AT in NJ. Warmer nights started with just the liner and pulled up the quilt as the temps dropped. On the 50 degree nights it added warmth. Love the pGreat feel, such little weight and stuffs right into the stuff sack with the quilt. Love the different color triangle at the foot box to make it easier to see getting into it. Will always be in my pack.

Used to protect my quilt from my dog !I’ve used a quilt liner a couple times now to cover my quilt so my dog can lay in the Hammock with me. I spoke to Dutch personally and he help me with this purchase . He was right it worked great my zero and my 20° quilts have both survived my dog on multiple nights in the Hammock with me. Thank you Dutch ! I highly recommend if your Hammocking with your dog!

I bought this quilt liner a few months ago and do not regret it.
I bought this quilt liner a few months ago and do not regret it. The manufacture is as expected perfect (typical Dutch) and the fabric is pleasurable and soft to my skin. As I’m 6’5″ tall, I decided to order an extended liner (7’3″), which was a good decision. Thus, it fits perfect. I’m happy to recommend this item.

Was looking for something light weight to use for summer hammock camping.
Found his quilt liner and purchased it in April 2021.
I have used it for over 300 nights in many different setups, from hot summer nights to a quilt liner in cool temperatures, as a frost protector & wind deflector for my over quilt in freezing temperatures.
I just ordered another quilt liner for other ideas I have for this coming winter camping.
I am very satisfied with the versatility of this product.

I have been waiting to review this item, and I got the chance to use it for a few nights camping in PA. I sleep warm ” the furnace” (cats, dogs and girlfriends seek me out when camping) , so your mileage may vary. In warm weather I usually get by with just a sheet when using a tent, but this liner kept me warm enough with the temps between 59°F to 65°F wearing shorts and a t-shirt on the warmer nights and for the cooler nights wearing a senchi alpha 90 hoodie and light base layer pant. Using a good R-value pad too will help too. The fabric is comfortable to sleep in and is easy to pack and carry–small, lightweight. I ordered a custom color and size liner and Melissa at Dutchweargear was helpful and quick to respond with all of my questions.
Note to Dutch, if you ever can marry this liner up with some alpha direct insulation, you would have a nice summer bag that would work into the 50’s and compress very nicely.
