The asym tarp is made from our Xenon Wide fabric and makes a great lightweight tarp that provides a lot of coverage. There is no center seam on this tarp which means no seam sealing needed…. ever. The tarp weighs in at 8.6 ounces for 10 perimeter tie-outs that allow for an adjustable and versatile tarp. We use 1/2-inch Beastee Dee® Rings on all tie-outs. A stuff sack is included with the tarp.

The best ultralight option without the cost of DCF!

I love the all of the extra tie-out points that this tarp comes with. This really changes the usefulness of this tarp and creates a lot of hanging options to achieve the desired coverage.

The super small packing size and sub 10oz weight makes this my go to for 3 season backpacking/camping.

I have this tarp in the dark olive green. I have upgraded it with Stingers, and Ring Worms.

    Thank you Dutch!

    Great tarp

    llmardock (verified owner)

I’m new to hammock camping and this is my first tarp. I set it up in my back yard with my new chameleon and it’s great! It’s pretty good coverage. It’s supposed to rain here this afternoon, so I will find out for sure. I also like that it lets the breeze flow. I’m liking it!

  7. Question

    Bob(Slbear)

What are the dimensions of this tarp? Can you post a diagram showing it flat so I can see the tie-out positions? I was thinking of getting a square or rectangular tarp with lots of tie-outs, and this looks like it might be nearly what I was looking for.

    unsure at first......

    Donald Piglowski

I made the DIY version over the winter. Now that ive used it a few times im ready to give it a review. ..

At first i thought no way this is gonna cover in any kind of rain. But to my suprise its done the job. Been out twice in the rain and i woke dry both times.

BEWARE: There is a small learning curve to hanging this tarp. There is not a lot of realistate to this thing, so it needs to be hung perfectly over your hammock. I also keep mine hung low.

I gave this tarp 5 stars because it is a great summer tarp. It lets even the slightest breeze in on those hot summer nights but still keeps the rain out(as long as it isnt windy). This my new main tarp from may through september.

  9. Question

    Rick Weber

Does this tarp accommodate laying in either direction? It looks like the wide ends of the tarp are set for head right, feet left configuration. Is it ok to flip the tarp over, and set it up for head left, feet right?

Yes it will accommodate any lay direction and you will just need to flip the tarp over for the other lay direction.

    Great little tarp

    mike5

I have purchased many tarps (as we do). I have a dyneema winter tarp and a wide winter tarp with pole mod (actually my favorite all time). But I wanted something that was super small and light weight and took up less space in my bag. This tarp comes in at 13oz with snake skins, stakes, and stake bag etc. At that weight it weighs less than my dyneema winter palace @ 15.5oz complete. This tarp will also pack down to the size of about a softball (maybe slightly larger). So compared to dyneema it packs MUCH smaller. My plan is to use this for fair weather trips or trips where we aren’t expecting much wind or rain.
