Advantages of bonded waterproof camping tarps

  • No seam seal needed – This includes the ridgeline and Side Panel Pullouts.
  • Doesn’t leak – This tarp can’t leak, making it the ultimate waterproof backpacking tarp!
  • Bonded reinforced ridgeline doesn’t perforate the fabric – Stitch free construction! Because the reinforcement is bonded there is no perforation where stitches can pull. This makes the tarp stronger, more waterproof, and longer lasting than other hammock camping tarps.
  • Repairable Send your tarp back to us if needing repaired.
  • Side Panel Pullouts can be applied after the tarp is made – Side Panel Pullouts can be easily installed postproduction and placed anywhere on the tarp.
  • Dries quicker – A bonded seam does not hold any moisture, so it dries faster than a grosgrain ridgeline.

    Absolute favorite tarp!

I have been hammock camping for just shy of 2 decades now and gone through a ton of tarps from all the usual names. For years and years my favorite was from Jacks R Better and I really did not ever think I would find one I liked more. The big appeal with that tarp was the poles that gave me so many options for setting up. My JRB is still in outstanding shape but I wanted something to blend into the PNW landscape a bit better. So, I decided to give this tarp a try due to the poles and color options. MAN! I am blown away at how great this thing is! First off, the material is GREAT. Second, I love the bonded seam. Does not really sound like a big deal, but it is. It makes a huge difference. Next, the hardware attachments are fantastic. I greatly prefer those to the grommets. The best part of all, I can still use the longer JRB poles in addition to the shorter DW poles with this thing! It is easily the best tarp I have ever used, hands down.

What is the difference between this and the winter version? The descriptions look almost identical minus the winter name.

Greetings. The winter tarp has a different cut than the rectangle which allows you to have “doors” that you can close on both ends for more wind and rain protection. The Rectangle tarp does not allow for a closed “door” option. It’s a matter of personal preference and what’s important to you =)

You can stuff it in a stuff sack (be sure it’s dry) and you’ll be good to go.

Aside from the weight, what is the difference between this and the ultralight version of this. As in, where is the weight being taken from?

These tarps use different materials. Our Ultralight tarps use Xenon .9 and the regular tarps use Xenon 1.1
