Infinite possiblities with shock cordsAfter I used the side stretching shock cords attached to chameleon, I am hooked.

I spliced small zing it! rings on each corner of superfly tarp then made the 3 ft long universal shock cords made with Line Lock Hook.

Now I can close the doors of the tarp just move the hook from one cormer to the other than just tighten the tension by pulling the strings. Quick, elegant and easy set up for tarp doors.

And now I’m doong the other applications with them and the possibilities are unlimited.

Greetings, the line lock hook does NOT work with the 3/4″ Beastee Dee, but it does work with the 1/2″ Beastee Dee.

  8. Question

    Marshall Moore (verified owner)

Yesterday I bought a tarp ( from another cottage vendor ) which has 1″ D-rings on the 4 corners, and picked up 4 of these with 50′ of the 2.3mm reflective cord from you to go with it. My question is this : will the Line Lock Hooks attach to the 1″ D rings ? I know they will work on the ½ inch d rings from your reply to the question below, I was hoping 1″ works just as well. If not, is there any sort of modification or work around that will make them compatible ?

  9. Question

    panama.hill (verified owner)

What would be the best spliceable cord for locking on to these Line Lock Hooks that is unlikely to slip? (There is also a preference for greenish colored cord). I would like to use reflective cord, but have found none that is spliceable. Amsteel is apparently too slippery. Spectra 2.2mm that I found which is supposedly spliceable seems like it might be equally slippery and what I found was expensive. I have read that yellow Zing It 2.2mm often slips unless you tie a knot.

On the other side, what are the maximum diameters of shock cord and Amsteel I could hook on to? From the size of the Beastee D rings, it seems like 1/8″ would easily fit.

    Great

So these have been great attaching my tarp lines directly to the cordage on msr groundhog stakes. In this application I use zing it. It will not hold by itself but I found that you can tighten it nicely, then put finger where the zing it is exposed on hook to increase friction/hold, and tie a quick slippery half hitch. Done

Now I am experimenting using this on the superfly tarp but for the primary anchorages points. Adjustability is a breeze.

Though these are definitely made to lock shock cord in place, I have had great success with zing it with a little practice (slippery half).

    Perfect!!

    Jeremiah Daniels (verified owner)

This is the perfect addition to my tarp setup. Super easy to use in all kinds of weather and attaches easily to the shock cord loops on my tieouts . One note – I had to run the zingit through it twice to have enough friction, but worked great and did not slip!

1.5 to 2.5mm will work with this plastic hardware. It is also meant for one cord to go through it.

  13. jstevensen

Will not hold 1.8 mm line

    jstevensen (verified owner)

These will not hold 1.8 mm Zing It or Reflect It. This hardware is closer to a Line Loc 3, which really needs lines between 2.5 mm and 3 mm.
