    Such a fantastic design

I will never pack a ridgeline again without a wasp attached to the end of it. It’s so wonderfully thought out and designed, and after using mine for a few dozen tarp hangs, I’ve never once had an issue with my line slipping out or losing tension.

Just amazingJust amazing! I actually attached the wasp directly to my tarp on both side and still run the continuous ridgeline thru both holes. My tarp is always on the line and yet fully adjustable while creating wide V off the tree for strap clearance from your hammock. I use it with 1.75 Zing it!

    So easy to use!

I ordered 2 wasps for my 12 ft tarp. I suck at tying knots so these were perfect for me. I use one on each side of my ridgeline and its easily adjustable to center my tarp over my hammock. Takes no time at all to pitch my tarp. They weigh next to nothing. I highly recommend for those who dont like tying knots.

Im addicted to Dutch!I have been placing an order once a week for the past month. I have acquired Zing-it, the wasp, three Dutch hooks, a flea, a set of regular and double whoopie hooks along with a spreader bar. I have some Amsteel and and splicing needles coming. I can’t get enough! I make all my loops and CRL and soon to be whoopie slings. Dutch you have changed my hammocking life forever! I check your site daily. Peace, Kalvin.

My first time using Dutch bling, Zing-it, and splicing! I made my first cont ridge line using orange Zing-it, added a spliced Dutch hook, and finished with a wasp. What a great little project!

    So easy

Received my 2 wasps on Zing-It within 5 days with regular USPS, and that was counting the New Year holiday, so great turnaround. I also got 2 Flyz on Zing-It.

Tried them out immediately. Directions come in the package, or you can see the directions on the website picture above. This makes hanging my tarp so much easier. I know a few knots, but am not an expert yet. When I tried using knots to secure my tarp to trees, inevitably the knot would slip at night or when the wind picked up. No more of that. I can now get my tarp up in a fraction of the time, and it doesn’t collapse on me later.

    Thanks!

    No more knots

I’ve been tying knots on the one end of my ridgeline for a while now, they always get so tight and are hard to get undone. I purchased the wasp and I now wonder why I didn’t do this long ago, easy to use, easy to adjust, and locks tight. I think this wasp is one of the best things I have ever purchased for camping.

This is a trusted piece of gear I use on my hammock tarp. It makes setting up and tear down extremely easy. Literally one of the best and smallest pieces of gear I have. Thank you dutchware!!

Make set up and take down SO much faster

I love these guys, and my husband was so jealous of my not-needing-to-putz-around-with-tying-stuff, he got some too. I don’t use a continuous ridgeline so I just use one each on each end of zing-it or lash-it to hang the tarp. It’s a lot easier to set-up, take-down and adjust than tying and untying knots!

One of my favorite hardware options for rigging a hammock tarp is the DutchWare Stingerz™.

One of my favorite hardware options for rigging a hammock tarp is the DutchWare Stingerz™. These titanium clips weight a scant 0.25 oz. (7 g.) for the pair and are easy to use on any tarp. I drew this diagram to show how I use Stingerz in the field. I splice or tie one end of my line (again, braided mason line), take the line around the tree and back to the Stingerz to create the “V” for the hammock suspension.

The Stingerz also feature the “stinger” where you can catch the line and pull back for a 2:1 mechanical advantage to get the tarp line taut. Finish by wrapping the line once or twice around the “antenna.” I find that once around the antenna is sufficient to hold the line. I store my Stingerz with the line separate from my tarp as I tend to switch tarps depending on the trip and I can easily clip on the Stingerz to any tarp thanks to the mini carabiner end.

Super easy and lightweight way to set up ridgeline

I use this wasp on the zingit as a ridgeline to hang my rainfly on. It is super easy and quick to set up which is huge when setting up in rain. I am able to have my tarp up in about 3 minutes so I can set up the hammock while staying dry. I use the the Tato tarp connectors to attach it but a couple of prussic loops would work just as well. I also got the clip on pull outs to create more room under the fly. Love it.

Simply ingenious Our favorite hiker on YouTube (think cheeseburgers), uses these and the dude is simply amazing at ultralight backpacking. Anywho, we took his advice and purchased these for our continuous ridge line set up. Boy howdy are we glad we did! No more €*%€+*~ # **% while setting up our tarps or taking them down. No wonder this is what the YouTube pros use.

We spliced in a Dutch hook on one one end of our 175mm Zingit (Dyneema also sold by Dutch), then added our Wasp (make sure it’s going the right direction) and buried the end of the Zingit (YouTube has great videos on how to do this). This not only gives it a clean end that won’t fray, but also keeps your Wasp from slipping off and losing it. Dutch sells it already done for you, but we were bored and wanted a winter project.

Dutch sends a nice full color glossy instructional card, that is really handy for the first couple times of use.

    THE FIT

It feels custom made for the 1.75mm Zingit. I feel it’s The best tensioning/anchor for my ridgeline set up. Its quick, light, strong and easy to use. It almost seems like it really can’t be this easy and hold this well. Then when I’m finished, it’s even easier to take down.

    Love them!

I actually have two and use them on both ends of my tarp instead of using a continuous ridgeline. They work amazing and are so easy to use. Even my dad, who has several health conditions that make it hard for him to use his hands, can easily use these.

I’d been watching the wasp used on several online videos and decided to try it out. It is a slick little thing that works well and is quick to use. I’m using the Zing-It 1.75mm line with it, and that easily slips under the wing and holds tightly.
