Do you think one could fit 1/8 inch shock cord? or no chance?

No that would not work as that would be way to big to fit in there.

    Super handy!!

These things are awesome! I didn’t know I needed them until I had them! I used some on either end of 25″ shock cord to make tarp door tie out like Triple Nickel Outdoor’s mitten hook tarp door mod (2 hooks plus cord @ 6g). The hook opening is about 17mm long by 5 mm wide, so you can fit a couple Beastee Dee rings in it. I hooked it on a hanging weight scale and pulled 4lbs before it came loose from the shock cord, but I feel like 2.5lbs is probably an ideal load. Hope this helps!!

  3. Question

How wide is the hook opening? Basically what is the largest diameter object the hook can fit?

These will easily hold about 2-4 pounds of weight before the shockcord slips.

Great for what they are and do

I use these to help hold back doors on my winter tarp. Not sure on the longevity of the spring clip itself as only time will tell.
