Question
John Schein –
Are the puffer and marsupial pouches water resistant? Which size puffer pouch would be best for use as a “food sack”?

Admin DutchWare Gear –
No they are not water resistant and I would not recommend using them for a food sack or a bear bag while hiking. I would recommend using the Dry Sack we make instead. Here is a link to it:

Bought this on a whim during my last stop to the DWG headquarters. Didn’t think I’d get much use and could pass it onto one of my students but DANG these things are great! As a frequent DIYer, I am envious of the simplicity of the design. As a hiker/motocamper I am pleased with its usefulness! Another win for the crew in Lancaster!

I bought the small red pouch thinking it might be a good size for tree straps. I think it’s too small for that, but I’ve made it into a small (and very light) first aid kit. I like it! I may order the medium size…as soon as I think of a use for it!

5 out of 5 Handy pouch

Well made pouch with good zipper and light weight. I got the medium size to hold my hammock suspension and straps. I was searching for a solution for keeping it all together and to keep the sap off my other gear, this fits the bill. I would suggest you look carefully at the dimensions to make sure you get the correct size for your needs.

I have 2 of the medium bags. I use one for my suspension parts and the other for my stakes, guy lines, Stingerz, etc.
