Lost it the first time I used it

I practiced using this before my first trip with it, took it out and demonstrated to all of my friends how the PCT method worked when we arrived at our first camp, showing them my fancy titanium bling, then forgot it was on the rope and at some point when looking for a good branch/tree to deploy it fell off. Ended up using sticks for 3 nights. What I can say is that its a dope little tool, works great on the line I have, and I have now ordered two more.

I think the key is having it on a mini-biner attached to the drawstring on your rope bag, make sure you ALWAYS have it there. As always… dutch makes some really cool stuff!

    Useful product BUT

Does exactly what it says, and attaching it to the line is simple and pretty intuitive. One big limitation is this: you can only use it with 1.75mm or smaller line. Most dutchware will take accept slightly larger line, but not this. Wish that warning had been in the description, since I use a slightly larger line and am back to a cut down tent stake.

Got it today, much better than a stick!

I mean, it’s crazy light, the bear bag and cordage with it are great, what more could you ask for?

For everyone still wondering how this magic works (HINT: it replaces the stick!)

    Must Have

I have used last month to try it out and I love this toggle. It is a must have item to add to the bear bag hanging kit. It’s easy to use and more durable and reliable than a stick.

    Great little item

This little thing is great for hanging the bear bag…especially when all of the sticks are a foot under snow. Pro tip #1: don’t try to use this while wearing gloves unless you want to hang the gloves too.
Pro tip #2: That little green reflective cord piece is great for those nights near Blue Mtn Shelter when you’re trying to hang your bear bag but your hands without gloves (see Pro Tip #1) are cold and you slip a bit…and then hear a “twang” as your bear bag toggle is launched like an arrow back over your head so you turn around quick and give thanks to above and to Dutch for thinking to put that cord there because it shines so brightly in your headlamp…ok, that may be a little specific, but you get the idea. Use that little loop around a finger (be sure to remove finger before releasing line) and whatever you do, don’t take that loop off. I love this thing.

    Works good

    killingtonite (verified owner)

The stick works good but I wish in the description it said it only works with 1.7 mm rope. Sadly my rope was to thick and I needed to purchase the proper rope. My rope was 2.0 mm I think and your could make it work but it’s a hassle. If you purchase this stick make sure you have the proper rope thickness.
