Kevlar® 1″ Webbing is one of the lightest and strongest webbings available.  It has a 2000 pound or 1500 pound breaking strength and weighs just 3.3 grams or 2.2 grams per foot.  It has almost no stretch and doesn’t absorb much water.  This makes it ideal for hammock suspensions.  This webbing is extremely resistant to friction and heat and starts to decompose at 800 degrees Fahrenheit and can handle temperatures of less than -320 degree Fahrenheit.  Kevlar® is effected by UV light and after 450 hours of direct sunlight it can turn brown and lose up to 50% of its breaking strength.  This is important to note and this product is not ideal to be used on a permanent hammock suspension that would be receiving a lot of UV exposure from sunlight.  Made by Dutchware and of course Made in the USA

These are great. I what to clean them as I recently hung in Grizzly Complex Fire Zone. A fire two years ago in the Wenaha Tucannon Wilderness and the tree straps have also some pitch from fir trees. Can these be soaked in acetone? Something weaker like De-Solv-it? Aesthetics are not so important but I’d love to get the pitch off.

Light as a feather (figuratively) and strong as a bull, if bulls were smart enough to hold your hammock for ya. They hold my weight, and they don’t damage the trees. Win win.

An outstanding product, my 3.3 15-footers make a total minimalist, reliable, ultralight suspension a reality and for almost any tree spacing.

    Lightweight and Easy

Replaced my hugger/whoopie combo, which I thought was already light, and got 15 footer Kevlar straps. They are lighter than my other system, give me longer reach, and pack up just as small, if not smaller. Work very well with the marlin spike hitch and titanium toggle and also with the J-Bend hitch.

    Lightweight and Easy

Got these to replace my hugger/whoopie sling combo. Got 15 footers and they are still lighter and pack smaller than my previous set-up. And, they give me longer reach. I’ve tried them and they worked well with toggles and marlin spike hitch or J-bend hitch.
