Description
Kevlar® 1″ Webbing is one of the lightest and strongest webbings available. It has a 2000 pound breaking strength and weighs just 3.3 grams per foot. The weave on this webbing is extremely tight compared to other webbing. It has almost no stretch and absorbs very little water. It also is extremely resistant to friction and heat and starts to decompose at 800 degrees Fahrenheit and can handle temperatures of less than -320 degree Fahrenheit. Kevlar is effected by UV light and will handle up to 450 hours of direct sunlight before it will turn brown and lose up to 50% of its breaking strength.
*Kevlar webbing is not recommended for a permanent hammock suspension as it is UV sensitive*

Question
Admin MathewSmith –
If I buy more than 1 [10 foot section], will it come as a continuous piece? or is it pre-cut in 10 foot lengths?

admin –
If you purchase more than 1, then we cut it in 1 continuous piece. Example: Order 3 and we send one 30 foot long piece.

The listed weight is 3.3 g/ft. Is this correct? If so, they 2 inch kevlar is actually lighter, at 3.1 g/ft? Thanks

Yes the 2″ webbing is a lighter weight webbing and if you measure them by the foot the 2″ will be 3.1 and the 1″ will be 3.3 grams.

Does this cut with a knife? Can it be cut to length by the user? Can the end be sealed with a lighter?

You will need to cut it with a scissors and then to seal the ends the webbing will need to be sewn.
