Kevlar 3.3 Huggers
$11.40 – $34.80
Kevlar® 1″ Webbing is one of the lightest and strongest webbings available. It has a 2000 pound or 1500 pound breaking strength and weighs just 3.3 grams per foot. It has almost no stretch and doesn’t absorb much water. This makes it ideal for hammock suspensions. This webbing is extremely resistant to friction and heat and starts to decompose at 800 degrees Fahrenheit and can handle temperatures of less than -320 degree Fahrenheit. Kevlar® is effected by UV light and after 450 hours of direct sunlight it can turn brown and lose up to 50% of its breaking strength. This is important to note and this product is not ideal to be used on a permanent hammock suspension that would be receiving a lot of UV exposure from sunlight. Made by Dutchware and of course Made in the USA
*Sold in pairs*

Question
Scott Darlington –
Is this recommended for use with buckle suspension or is it too slick like UHMWPE webbing?

DutchWare Gear –
No this webbing will not work with a buckle and it will slip.

Question
JmacLean1282 –
Could these be used with a whoopie sling type suspension using a dutch clip, whoopie sling, whoopie hook and continuous loop on a hennessy hammock?

DutchWare Gear –
Yes they could be used as described. You will need to replace what is in the end channel of your hammock with continuous loops in order to use the whoopie hooks.

Question
Mkilborn468 –
The image isn’t clear, is the loop at one end big enough to feed the strap back through itself (as opposed to a small loop that would work with a mechanical attachment)?

Carolyn –
If you purchase a strap or hugger without a sewn on dutch clip then yes the opposite end will be big enough to fit a other end through itself.

Question

” and weighs just 3.3 grams or 2.2 grams per foot.” – this doesn’t make any sense.
If I select a 5′ pairwith No Dutch Clip, the weight is 40.1g.
5′ x 2.2g x 2 straps = 22g
5′ x 3.3g x 2 straps = 33g
So now I’m REALLY confused.

Dave Gantz –
Good catch, we just updated the site as this webbing is 3.3 grams per foot. Each strap has a stitched loop on both ends; which adds a bit of weight, hence the shipping weight of 40.1 grams for a pair of 5′ huggers.
