Making travel as light as possible no matter if you are on the trail or traveling to a tropical location. Our Gear Hanger’s made from Xenon Sil .9 which is a waterproof tarp material making the bag water-resistant. It will come complete with a grosgrain loop inside and outside of the bag making it easy to hang your items securely. The inside grosgrain loop will have a mini carabiner giving you plenty of room to hang multiple items. On the bottom of the bag there is a sewn channel  that we have run 3/32 shock cord through. We have combined this with a mini cord lock that will enable you to cinch closed the bottom of your bag keeping your items completely enclosed.

The Gear Hanger will enable you to cover your pack or gear when hung from a tree. It will work great combined with our Big Carl Pack Hanger
You will also be able to use the Gear Hanger as a garment bag for travel.

    Question

    Jevon Waldron

Just curious how does this work with the big carl pack hanger? is there a pass through for the line or can the inside grosgrain hold the weight of a pack. I think this is something i am looking for to prevent the pack from being exposed against the tree

BTW Dutch I love all of your gear, and options. This site is my go to for hammock camping supplies. i will be getting one of your hammocks in the spring

The big carl pack hanger will feed through the grosgrain loop on the outside and it will hold the weight of the pack or gear within reason.

    Question

    joelmlevin

How much weight is this designed to hold? I’d want to be able to use it for heavy motorcycle jacket/pants (~20lbs total) and for a partially-loaded pack. Thanks!

The gear hanger will work great in this aspect and that is what it is designed for. You should be able to hold up to 50lbs.

Works great but could be even better

I used this pack hanger this past weekend on a trip and it got rained on for a good 12 hours and kept my pack and its content nice and dry. I created my own pack hanger using a nama claw and it’s super fast and easy to attach this gear hanger to it around a tree. My only complaint with this piece of equipment is that it doesn’t also function as a pack cover while hiking. Dutch, I suggest you brainstorm a way to add something to one of the sides so that you can tension it around a pack while hiking that way you don’t have to bring a separate pack cover. Overall, I’m still glad I got this item; works as advertised.
