Advantages of Bonded Waterproof Camping Tarps

  • No seam seal needed – This includes the ridgeline and Side Panel Pullouts.
  • Doesn’t leak – This tarp can’t leak, making it the ultimate waterproof backpacking tarp!
  • Bonded reinforced ridgeline doesn’t perforate the fabric – Stitch free construction! Because the reinforcement is bonded there is no perforation where stitches can pull. This makes the tarp stronger, more waterproof, and longer lasting than other hammock camping tarps.
  • Repairable Send your tarp back to us if needing repair.
  • Side Panel Pullouts can be applied after the tarp is made – Side Panel Pullouts can be easily installed postproduction and placed anywhere on the tarp.
  • Dries quicker – A bonded seam does not hold any moisture, so it dries faster than a grosgrain ridgeline.

Just had them out for an overnight with temps hovering around freezing, actually got some rain in the night. Both tarps in picture are the bonded xenon, though as you can see mine is custom white and infinitely cooler looking than my buddy’s charcoal grey. Tarps worked great and kept us out of the wind and freezing rain. I was on the fence about needing one verse just sticking with my hex tarp and using my sock as well but I was fully convinced in the morning. As I mentioned it rained at night, and I never actually shut one of my doors since it was like 32 degrees and that’s warm. I had some stuff near that door and there was water frozen on it since the door was open. Had I stuck with a hex tarp and sock my hammock/quilts would have been protected, but all my gear that was under the tarp would have still been exposed. I don’t want to wake up with snow/ice on all the gear I leave outside under my tarp so having (and maybe closing) doors is going to come in handy.

    Awesome tarp

Fortunately I got into hammock/tarp camping right after these bonded tarps became available. So, I have been able to skip the whole seam seaming piece of tarp living, and I am just fine with that. I have had my bonded winter tarp since 2/2022 and it has been great. I have used it in below freezing with heavy wind and it shows no signs of stress. I would recommend this tarp to anyone.

    Hello Dutchware,
You state, “Repairable – We can make repair tape for a tarp so you can repair a tarp in the field.”. How do I get my hands on this “repair tape”? Would like to have some with me on the trail just in case.

  5. Question

I understand you do not offer the service to add snaps. Will the material tear or have any issues if I decide to add door snaps myself?

  8. Question

    gjordan28

The specs show the difference between an 11’ bonded xenon winter tarp with pullouts only 5g heavier than the ultralight version. Is that all, seems wrong.

We’re tracking weights as tarps are made and plan to update the weights in the next few weeks. Right now, the Xenon 1.1 style is about 10 to 15grams heavier than the UL style. Each tarp is made by hand, so their is a weight varience.

    Great tarp

    riptide010 (verified owner)

I got a 12′ version of this tarp with the pull outs. It gives great coverage with a good amount of space so you don’t feel cramped in or end up rubbing against the walls. I live in the PNW and have used it in more then a few rainy nights. It has never leaked. If something unfortunate happens I would happily get another one.
