Beetle Buckles (Pair)
$32.00
Titanium Beetle Buckles are a revolutionary new patent pending suspension system that we invented just for the Chameleon (but can also be used for any other hammock). It excels where other suspension pieces fall short. It is made from grade 5 titanium, so it is light, strong, and won’t corrode. It has special wings that are used to easily release the tension and adjust it. The anchor connection system makes it so you can disconnect your suspension and store your possibly wet or sappy suspension separately from your hammock. Lastly, you can get a spreader bar and adjoin two hammocks together into a two-person shelter.

With the unique beetle buckle system, all you have to do to connect two hammocks is add a spreader bar. Using the spreader bar, you can set them up side-by-side and under the same tarp. This will save you even more weight since you will only need one tarp and enable couples and families to camp with each other. If you want to sleep apart or hike solo, you don’t have to change anything on either suspension. They are completely functional as a solo suspension.

Beetle Buckles on Poly Pro Straps can’t be Beat!Love my WBBB and the straps with cinch buckles and wasn’t looking to change it out. However, a very rainy trip showed me the importance of detaching the straps from the hammock. Although unweaving and weaving the straps through the cinch buckle solves the problem; the Beetle Buckles make it much easier, quicker and saves weight. The poly pro straps are also easier to adjust. It wasn’t difficult to swap out the continuous loops and I was able to purchase one for Red = Head end of the hammock. Love that the hammock stores in my pack and I put the Straps and Beetles into two AGG Mesh Sacs for outside of pack storage.. Overall, this saved weight and once again, Dutch Bling makes the Bug Life the best life!

Beetle BucklesI switched to the BB for my new Dyneema/Polyester tree straps because the Cinch Bugs where too tight. Customer Service recommended this switch and they work superbly.

My preferred buckle
I have stainless cinch buckles, Ti cinch buckles and cinch bugs. A pair of beetles came with the chameleon. While I haven’t used them extensively yet, the ease of adjustment won me over very quickly. Since my wife and I always double hang, the spreader bar feature is the icing on the cake.

These even beat out my Ti cinch buckles
i can now keep my straps and hardware all together and only have the hammock and continous loops in the bishop bag, a dry and cleaner way to go.
These also hold very well with the dyneema straps.

Beetle Buckles make my hammock set-up super fast and super easy. Adjusting the position of the buckle on a strap is slick and simple. Thank you for these little gems!

I’m not a gram counter by any means but it’s nice to save some clunky weight of using a carabiner and having additional options to set up my system. Great work.

These buckles are by far the easiest suspension I’ve ever used. I have them on the 15′ spider/poly straps, and Dutch clips on the loops. Man, setup and take down is almost too easy now. Same with adjusting the tension, just grab it and pull. They are super lightweight, even for 15′ straps with hardware. Probably not much heavier than whoopie sling systems and definitely lighter than daisy chains. You can tighten your suspension all the way to the tree in case you need to hang on some trees that are really close together. Plus with 15′ of strap, I can get around those really thick trunks and still have enough leftover, and lots of length for trees that are far apart. It really can approach just about any hanging situation without issues. With that in mind, it’s worth it to me to go with the 15′ straps. I love the ability to easily attach/detach the hammock so you can store the straps separately. No carabiners/clips/knots/toggles (nothing against the Becket hitch, but this is way faster for only marginally more weight) to fumble with, just hook it on and adjust the tension. Super easy and intuitive. Thanks for this awesome system, I’m definitely a customer for life at this point.

The Beetle Buckles are our new standard for setting up our hammocks. We leave them on the straps and can have the hammock up and adjusted in under a minute. They’re lightweight and very strong. I’m 6’6″ and weigh 290 and they support me without issue. They go great with the Spider/Poly Straps and the weight is minimal. Highly recommended!

I’ve always suspended my hammock using a becket hitch which is simple but not always the quickest. I decided to try Dutch’s Beetle Buckles and what a game changer! Fast and easy setup, adjustment and take down. Thanks Dutch

As a novice hammocker over the last 2 years, I have to say that these beetle buckles make the process of setting up your tree anchors & adjusting the length of them super easy. Once you have the beetle buckles on your straps (I use the Spider Dutch ones – they are less twisty than others) – See videos on the Internet for how to put them on your straps (not that intuitive…) – you can easily adjust the length / angle from your anchor. I attach my hammock to the beetle buckle using my whoopie slings (set as short as possible). This makes my hammock very stable & secure. Note: As I have gotten used to using the beetle buckles, I now realize that wrapping the straps around the tree really isn’t that great. I should have also bought the dutch clip. I’m using a carabiner for now; but in the future will probably buy the clip – it also looks like a time saver.

I put these amazing Beetle Buckles on some old nylon webbing straps I’ve used in my hammock suspension for a couple of years. The webbing has grown stiff with age and exposure so it’s harder for the strap to slide around the hairpin turn it has to make inside the BB. Still, I am happy to say that the BB works exactly as advertised but will require effort proportionate to the stiffness of the (old) webbing. So … I’m going to invest in some brand new polyester starps.
