Beetle Buckle Complete Suspension

(41 customer reviews)

From: $38.00

Titanium Beetle Buckles are a revolutionary new patent pending suspension system that we invented just for the Chameleon (but can also be used for any other hammock). It excels where other suspension pieces fall short. It is made from grade 5 titanium, so it is light, strong, and won’t corrode. It has special wings that are used to easily release the tension and adjust it. The anchor connection system makes it so you can disconnect your suspension and store your possibly wet or sappy suspension separately from your hammock. Lastly, you can get a spreader bar and adjoin two hammocks together into a two-person shelter.

*Spider/Poly straps combined with the Beetle Buckles will have a weight limit of 350lbs*
*Polyester straps combined with the Beetle Buckle will have a weight limit of 300lbs*

*Polyester straps combined with the Beetle Buckle will have a weight limit of 300lbs
*Beetle buckles will not work with any type of UHMWPE webbing

With the unique beetle buckle system, all you have to do to connect two hammocks is add a spreader bar. Using the spreader bar, you can set them up side-by-side and under the same tarp. This will save you even more weight, since you will only need one tarp, and enable couples and families to camp with each other. If you want to sleep apart or hike solo, you don’t have to change anything on either suspension. They are completely functional as a solo suspension.

Sweet suspension, too easyThese are a little heavier /bulkier than my previous system (tree webbing with whoopie hooks on slings), but they are about as good as it gets for making set up and adjustments effortless. Using them with a spreader bar on the double dutch system. Compared to the whoopie slings, one major advantage is if your trees are pretty close together it’s no problem at all, they can tighten all the way; while the slings can only get so close the end because of the loop, you have to have about a foot or so of sling at each end.

InnovativeI got this suspension system plus some continuous loops for a Hennessey hammock. These straps are lighter, longer, and easier than the stock suspension. I recommend this suspension for any hammock though. I have used it on 3 different hammocks and it works perfectly.

Perfect!Ordered the 15′ Dyneema/Polypro suspension system with Beetle Buckles along with my Chameleon 1.6 hexan and loved it so much, I promptly ordered the same with sewn-on Dutch Clips for my Warbonnet Blackbird XLC. Easy set up and simple adjustments but most importantly, I can now store my dew-covered suspension separate from my hammock.

    Perfect all-around suspension

I’ve used this suspension in a multitude of backpacking and camping situations. It has the capacity, convenience, and reliability matched with a light weight that puts it at an advantage over heavier strap systems and lightweight sling systems. I have set this up in the dark, snow, rain, and freezing rain with the confidence that my 275 lb frame and 30+ lbs of additional hammock and equipment will stay suspended for the night, and I have never been let down.

Ordered the Beetle Buckle complete suspension and couldn’t be happier and I replaced my suspension on my Hennessy Hammock Expedition Asym Zip and it works great and the service from Dutch was great.
I very highly recommend the Beetle Buckle complete suspension from Dutch.

Why oh why did I wait so long to get this?

    rreidnauer (verified owner)

Holding the stock components from my Hennessy Hammock in one hand, and Dutchware’s Beetle Buckle (w/ sewn on Dutch clips) suspension system in the other, I can’t notice any appreciable difference in weight. What I do notice, however, is simply how much better every component of the system is. Easier/faster to secure and remove from the trees, easier/faster to adjust all aspects of the hammock, the simplicity of separating your suspension from the hammock if need be. After watching the videos of upgrading suspension, it was an absolute cinch to do myself. Just beautiful all around. No longer do I need to dread the setup and adjustment using the stock suspension system. It’s worth every cent, twice! I have a feeling I’ll be doing more hammock camping, with such a perfect setup now. Thanks Dutch!!

    First Order from Dutchware

My first order from Dutchware. It won’t be my last. Best customer service experience. Of course I messed up the order but was able to email over the weekend prior to shipment. Little did I know I was actually chatting with Dutch who held the order until Monday. Carolyn double checked the order and fixed everything. Still got the order extremely fast the same week. I wasn’t expecting it after the mess I made. The product works great. Very smooth adjustments with some weight on the hammock. Very light weight. Just tested it out at home, look forward to using it on a section hike on the AT in April.

    These are 100% pure awesomeness

    Lee Bakewell (verified owner)

Works flawlessly with the thicker 1/8″ continuous loops, but install the loops so the thick part is inside the hammock channels. There’s no slippage at all, these things set up and adjust very easily and don’t move at all on you. Extremely light, even lighter than using 1/4″ poly rope w/o huggers. I wish they were solid black for stealth camping, since the straps stand out being white, but I’ll look into dying them black later. These things really are amazing, pure luxury when it comes to suspension, nothing compares.

I had some cheapo hammock straps that weighed a ton. I saw these and decided to give ‘em a try. Not only are they super light compared to the others, but the buckle lets me fine tune my hang. Great product. Keep up the good work Dutch and Co.

Upgrades both of our hammocks to beetle buckle suspension and couldn’t be happier. The Dutch Clips are wonderful upgrades, and we just found the whole system light, tough, and simple. They just work. Well done, Dutch.

Ordered the Spider Straps with Beetle Buckles. Have been in a hammock for about 20 years now. Best suspension system I’ve ever used. Easy to adjust and holds without slipping when in place. Just hook your continuous loop to the Beetle Buckle, adjust your straps and forget. I also found the customer service second to none. Contacted Dave through email. Quick responses and super helpful. Couldn’t ask for a better product or service!

The 15′ poly/dyneema strap w/ beetle buckles and Dutch hooks provides a bomb proof suspension system. Detachable, versatile, fast, simple, and very very reliable. Nice work Dutch!

    Excellent Design

We love the Beatle Buckle suspension, it makes life so much easier to look for just 2 trees instead of looking for the right combination of 3 or 4 trees, my wife couldn’t be happier (happy wife, happy life). It takes a little getting used to but once you have it figured out, life is great. We use a spreader bar at each end to give a little more room and it works great. Not to mention you can pack the suspension separately which is priceless if you get any sap on the straps, thanks Dutch.

    Excellent products

I purchased the Beetle buckles with the Dyneema/Poly strap , Dutch clips and Cls . I too converted a HH and am very happy with the results. Lighter weight, super adjustable and fantastically easy setup. Excellent Idea putting this together, perfect form and function. After I received the order confirmation I replied back with a color change request on one of the CLs. They got right on it and helped me out. Big +1 on CS!

    Thanks Dutch and crew

    Best Suspension Ever

I love my new beetle buckle suspension for my Hennessy hammock! Not only is it super solid with zero slipping, but it saved me 1 lb by removing the stock suspension, tree straps, caribeaners, and rappel rings. It is easier to use as well. I always used to pull my hammock tight before, and now hang at the prescribed 30 degrees and the Hennessy lays fine that way. Not sure why everyone pulls them so tight. Once again, Dutch hits it out of the park!

    Great Product

Absolutely love this system. I waited for it to come out and I’m glad I did. Very easy to use. Love how I can take continuous loop off beetle buckle and then store straps and buckle separate from hammock. I like easy and light weight, that’s what this offers. Dutchware made the straps the length I wanted. Great customer service!

Easy, light, and even a bit stylish – plus the ability to hang two hammocks off the same set of trees. What else could you want in a suspension system?

Fairly easy to use, minor difficulty sliding the buckles along the straps

    cvenem01 (verified owner)

These took some getting used to the first time I tried them out. The buckles were tricky to slide along the straps. You really have to take all the weight off them to get them to move.
If I were to offer feedback, the tabs on them need to be a bit bigger to make it easier to get ahold of them when adjusting them.
I got them so I could have more adjustability in my hammock suspension and in that they work great. I just need more practice using them.
